Because there is no subforum for DMT for some odd reason I'll post it heya. I was wondering if it is possible to extract the DMT or 5-MeO-DMT from Yopo seeds (A. peregrina)?
if your a chemist but if your refering to raw extractions such as boiling the ground yopo powder into a tea... i would seriously advice against this, the taste would make you vomit on the first gulp.
you wouldn't need to be a chemist to extract anything from plants. I've heard soaking it in isopropyl (99%) for a day or two and shake it a lot it will come out with some potent resin.
well rustwireinbrick means that unless yer a chemist, yer gonna have to do a easy extraction that ends up with a final product that will have a horrendous taste... but rustwireinbrick doesnt mean that you cant extract it at all though
try the drug chemistry subforum. polymer can help. i think you could do a hcl/naoh extraction/basification deal with it...but i'm no chemist.
Dont extract 5-MeO-DMT. Extract from a plant (like root bark) that contains only NN-DMT.. thats the more settle and pleasent DMT that will make you trip easier and have much less side effects. rustwire, you most certanly do not have to be a chemist to do a DMT extraction. Actually, its fairly simple, its just sort of a long process that involves some "know what your dealing with"ness
you don't necessarily have to be a chemist, but you do have to know which solvent to use; naptha is fine, you can get it from a hardware store. unfortunately, you're going to get the other tryptamines in your crude product; the only feasible way to possibly separate them is to wash the end product with acetone, and run it through a column packed with silica, eluted with acetone.
