Yea, in WWII 'neutral' Sweden sold large quantities of arms to all sides so that they could kill each other with them in mass numbers, and made a fortune in the process-armies on both sides were shooting at each other with Bofors guns.

It's a damn good idea. They serve both sides equally, and make money while keeping their citizens safe.

Ten years ago the Project for a New American Century was writing papers to just this effect. And since most of their founders are members of the current U.S. cabinet, what would you expect. A handful of people are becoming rich at the expense of the lives of the little people. But still many buy into their practices on the basis that they will make us safer....sure want to sell me a bridge too?

By the way you forgot Haliburton.

there is a moral spectrum on this. Canada restricts what countries it will sell small arms too. Although this is not perfect (ie: weapons for Haiti merely being smuggled throught the Dominican Republic), it is certainly an improvement.

America is lacking restrictions such as this.

    Who woulda thunk it ?
except to say youve got to have oil to wage a war
    water
    etc etc etc
Take anything that looks corrupt - take anything that sounds corrupt
take anything that makes vast amounts of money and rich people and THEIR government is in on it at the expense of ordinary decency and without any semblance of moral value, including the Canadian government - anyone would think the Canadian government could crap without stinkin the place out by the way you say it.

what - like, ya know its not perfect but its better than all the rest?
Get outta here - If the Canadians didnt have to keep havin to get permission off us Brits and yanks before doing anything with world impact, they would be just as bad and anyway their government and civil service is full of the same corrupt, soul dead, morons that every other government is full of - they just say "thank you", and "please" more often
sorry - didnt get the bit about precision - explain what a moral spectrum is apart from a relativist moral perspective - either they uphold truth, justice, and fair play, or they dont, improvement is also subjective. You think anyone wants to know who made, or sold, the gun that killed their kids?
