So today, I cut my finger, again. I work in the specialty cheese dept. at a health food store. I was cutting this 40 lb block of chz and the (very fucking sharp) knife slipped and cut my damn finger straight through to the bone. I was pressing down hard on it with all of my weight (hard cheese) so I am very lucky I didn't chop my finger off. I cut a diff. finger last week. At this rate, I will have defingered myself with 17 days. *grr* And, I can't go get stitches b/c they drug test you if you get medical attention. So, I'm keeping it tight and hoping for the best.
Ive cut myself many times in the restaurant business, but most of the time it happens with other objects (not knives). I have cut myself with a knife, and almost took off the tip of my middle finger.... other times I have cut myself on the plastic wrap blade, a salad cutter, a fryer filter...... too many things to mention..... shelves etc.
hopefully it heals and you didn't hit a small artery or something. i almost cut part of my thumb off before. was on an Ice Trek during january, chopping wood to keep the fire going and with the axe hit my left thumb...ouch
I'm pretty pissed that I can't drink a beer right now. I need my blood to clot up. Just about 2 months ago I chopped the tip of one finger off with a highchair.
Right now I have three bandaids on. It bled through two of them but not the third. I'm pretty sure it finally stopped bleeding (4 hours later) but I am not checking until tomorrow. Cause if I try to remove the bandaid, I will probably pull the gash back open. I may superglue tomorrow...
yea, superglue works...hopefully it will stop bleeding. my friend punched *something* (multiple things we guess, but not really sure what he hit) but he hit something and hit an artery on his finger...had to get 4 stitches...
why would a doctor drug test you for having a cut finger, your just being paranoid. The average Hospital probably gets 100+ finger cuts a day. you really think they're gona drug test every one of them? If it really is a bad cut get the thing checked, you can cut ligaments and and tendons in fingers, then wind up crippled if it isnt fixed. And, buy yourself a filleting glove or two, they're usually made out of tough un cuttable stuff, like metal fibers. somthing like this http://www.boatersworld.com/product/478620784.htm
I cut myself all the time. I have a nasty gash on the side of my knee from a crowbar. I don't know how it happened it just did.
my finger got slammed in the side of a folding chair, the part that unfolds and folds...man that fucking hurt
ooph, I read the title as "meant to be fiberglass" go get some stitches babe, just refuse to piss in a cup for 'em
I was doing construction work and one of the dumbfucks I was working with was holding it, swinging it around and it hit me in the knee. So I was being civil by working until I got hit. I had to clean up the blood and I didn't go back to work for a couple of days. I still want to hurt that s.o.b.
Because that is policy for my company. They don't test us unless we have to get medical attention. I can't wear those cutting gloves. It just isn't practical with what I have to do. It hurts like hell right now, but it has stopped bleeding. I really think it'll be fine.
