Moral is keep away from rock heads. Don't take much notice of kids saying what they would have done they would all have done exactly the same as you. Try and learn to read situations before they happen if you in a room with four crack heads don't get your weed or money out try saying your skint and ask them for a smoke first or better still just get out of there. Most people whoever they are have been ripped at some point sometimes theres nothing you can do except learn from it and make sure it dosn't happen again.
As for all the rambos that would have single handedly wiped all four of them out well what can I say.

Nobody is saying to be "Rambo" as you so ignorantly put it. We're simply saying that we would've had a backbone and stood up for ourselves. You live in the UK, what do you know of inner-cities in Amerika??? I don't know how hoodlums play it across the pond, but over here, if you bitch up, your a mark, plain and simple. Would've been better to get his ass beat by 4 crackheads than live out the rest of his time there being a mark.

And when I was a kid, I had stuff like that happen to me (grew up around D.C.) I didn't bitch up, I've had my ass beaten, and been shot at, but once you show the streets that your willing to stand up for yourself, they tend to either ally with you, or simply let you be.

I don't advocate violence, I think it's stupid and pointless, however, I don't advocate being walked all over either, sometimes you gotta stand up for yourself, and this is one of those occassions, to suggest anything less is naieve and will only lead to more trouble. (unfortunately, too late for this cat)

 

buffoonman was completely right, you never let anybody know what you got when you're in the city. Learn how to say "I don't know" when ANYBODY asks you where the trees are. It's that simple. I'm not saying I would have just given my bag over, but I would have never shown four strangers who probably looked the part of crack fiend see hwat I was holding.

ok dudenamedrob, me not standing up for myself doesn't make me a "mark" here in plainview, texas. no one cares that much to have a specially selected "enemy", especially if they're crackheads. They've probably forgotten about me by now. Plus, I'm moving back to Austin this coming saturday anyways, why go there with a face full of pain? you say you neither advocate violence or weakness, and that this certain situation required me to defend myself, but, for people like you, when is it ever NOT going to require violence? I would understand what you were saying, had there only been like 2 people just eager to beat someone, but, there were 4 of them. 4. I didn't grow up around one of the largest crime rate cities in the U.S. like you did. What you say does apply, but only in a place like that. that, and I'm not a redneck shit-kicker who just can't wait for the next fight. I don't regret my decision to keep the peace. I have long since fully replenished my pot stash, and my face doesn't hurt. no loss that I can see. oh, and just to stop you ahead of time in case you decide to say it, I don't believe fighting preserves your dignity. oh, and a few people said I shouldn't have broke out my stash, but, those guys brought theirs out first, then asked me to show them. so i did, expecting them to throw in as well. Had I known their intentions, of course I wouldn't have ever said I had anything at all. Not that it would've mattered, though, even if I had told them I didn't have anything, me and my friends had already been smoking for the better part of thirty minutes, so the smell would've been a dead giveaway...

 

well what do I know........you know your situation better than me, and ultimately its your choice. I've said my advice/opinion...........I will tell you a funny story though..

When I was like 16 I was movin a bit o' nuggets right, this mulatto cat comes over to my house, wants a zip, I weight it up, my phone rings, I answer it, in the course of my phone call this kid dips out and leaves. Well obviously I was pissed, but I don't start fights, ever.....I'll most definitely defend myself, but I won't outright start anything, violence is arbitrary and an absolute act of desperation....however some of my friends did not share this view, so they went down to the village projects where this kid lived right, tried to stick thier noses into it.........that whole debacle just ended up in a bunch of people yelling at each other, ridiculous. It's okay though.........about a week later I saw the kid drivin around in his new tricked out Civic trying to be all Mr. Gangsta dood................pretty funny what happened, some thoughtless person blew up his car, completely engulfing it in flames, completely destroying it while he was fucking some girl, only a block from the police precinct.

What's this? Stop crying because I suggest something opposite to your view of the situation. If I lived in a neighborhood prone to muggings, I'd carry SOMETHING on me for my own self defense, whether I'm going to toke up or not. I never said he handled it the wrong way, just suggesting something different for NEXT time.

That dude that knows the black guys that jacked you has got to know that they are assholes. Either he cuts contact with them, or I say you cut contact with your friend. I know I am a paranoid stoner. I can hear a police siren 5 blocks away and start trippin. So, just me, I don't need ANY drama when messed up. Tell your boy that those dudes are dicks and have got to go. Meanwhile, have a straight talk with your girl. Tell her that you was hurting, and tell her that you needed a bowl. You might be bold enough to ask for an explanation to her stingy bitchiness. I just wanted to add something, because I just read some more of the replies. Some of you people are way too aggresive. We are talking about plainview Texas, population 22000. Not Houston, or DC or Miami (where I live) Not a whole lot of crime there in Plainview, I imagine. Plus, the dude was stoned. I don't care for a fight when I'm stoned. Anybody that would fight over, what, a quarter, when stoned, versus 4 dudes is a complete idiot. As to the idea of bringing a gun, yeah it might work for some people, but this poor bastard just didn't see it coming. And getting high with a strap just sounds like a bad idea to me. After you shot one of those hoodlums what exactly are you gonna say to the pigs when they come around. They would not be pleased at anyone packing and stoking. Dude you did the right thing to bitch it up. And, please don't ever carry a gun while getting messed up. The only thing to do is to analyze the situation before sitting down.
