Sirius: What's the point that you are trying to make? I'm actually confused as to your purpose -- not trying to sound like a dick.
alot of stuff in the Bible has been proven true though, like events and stuff i do believe and in the da vinci code the only thing real is the cult of Opus dei itself
Well that's very telling. Is that the root of your venom FedUp? Did Father Mike touch you? BTW you're not on my iggy list because your hatred amuses me. But that won't last long.
Perhaps. I read the book and found it fascinating. But I'm not much of a fan of Tom Hanks, at least not since Forrest Gump.
What really irritates me is that every passing day that we get closer to the opening of this movie, I see another docu-show where some scientist/theologian says "Brown was wrong because..." IT'S FICTION!!! HOW CAN ONE BE HISTORICALLY WRONG WHEN WRITING FICTION??? Has anyone actually checked their Oxford for the definition of "fiction"? I hear that 60% of the people who have read this book have a different view of Christianity afterward. I'm thinking the the Catholic Church is spending money on more than just lawyers these days. I hear studio time is expensive.
If you need visual stimulation that badly I pity you your lack of capacity and creativity. You should spend more time in front of your television. Edit: I was asked to clarify; Spending more time in front of your television will only make you MORE stupid. Try contemplating a tree. Open your mind, stop relying on artificial pretty colors.
I'll rent it. From what I've read in reviews and been told by those that have seen it, it's pretty dull and a long 2 1/2 hours. Probably is better broken up into smaller segments at home.
OK, so... Much like the Muslims wanted the head of Salman Rushdie, the Roman Catholics (not to mention the albinos) want the head of Dan Brown. Why? Because it poses the scenario that Jesus was a normal male who had a wife and fathered a child? Yes, that's defaming the prophet... And Brown admits, as I've reported many times in this thread, that it's FICTION. Wah wah wah... stop making fun of Jesus... Isn't that most of Christianity? Faith based on supposition? There is not one shred of evidence ever found anywhere that would prove (or disprove) a single biblical story. As for Cannes, it's the French. What would you expect? It was an American film that had no love story (outside of Jesus and Mary Magdelene) and there were no snails or bad wine. Fuck em. And no, I'm still not planning to see it because it won't compare to the book (which by the way was a MURDER MYSTERY, a work of FICTION, not religious text).
What is the big fucking deal? I saw the Da Vinci Code. So What? I agree with Ian McKellen, Christianity should be brought down... So Jesus, may or may not, married Mary Magdalene and has a child, whose descendants are still walking the earth today. Is that such a big fucking deal? Another reason why I don't follow Christianity, is the way that Christians in general react to possible changes or events that disrupt their silly little "Status Quo". It makes me sick. It just proves my point that Catholics are afraid of change. The priests raping little boys wasn't enough for the church to end celibacy. Now why are Catholics protesting a movie, when they should protest that? Do you wanna know why? Because they'll still blindly follow the raping priests, because they still blindly follow a concept of a 'God', because they can't think for themselves. WAKE THE FUCK UP PEOPLE!!!!!! It's 2006, time for a change. It's time to think for yourself. You don't have to limit yourself, because of what a stupid book says (and I'm refferring to the Bible). As for the other book, I'm amazed that Dan Brown still considers himself a Christian. You'd think that somebody who knows better would write a book like "The Da Vinci Code". But either way, I salute Dan Brown, because whether he likes it or not, this may be a first step in a long line of events that could bring a huge change is organized religion.
