I know it's tough, but whenever you are in a bad situation, the best thing you can do is get your self so frustrated at your INaction that you do something about it. It's not easy at ALL, but once you've done it once, you can do it again, and again, until you aren't so frustrated when you do it, and then all of the sudden you're sticking up for yourself and you've changed for the better.
