I signed a lease for my first apartment today

and if everything checks out i get the key tomorrow afternoon

Im excited, but i came to the realization i dont have any furniture

somebody mail me a couch please?

 

go freecycle up one for yourself.

 

I was prolly gonna hit up the thrift stores

 

it's garage sale season too.

check out freecycle for sure though, pple are always giving away good stuff.

 

ive been asking coworkers and stuff.

one guy wants to give me a coputer desk.

When we started out 28 years ago our "furniture" was very limited:

We had two lawn chairs, the webbed kind and milk crate with a piece of plywood on top for a little table.

Two tv trays served as the table for meals, pulled up in front of the lawn chairs.

We had a boxspring and mattress on the floor.

That was ALL.

Too funny. The inlaws were a little snobby back then and kept offering us furniture.
We were holding out for the $$ instead. Neve did see the $$ lol. Guess they knew we wouldn't spend it on furniture.

woohoo! Yeah, just mention to friends/coworkers that you're moving out and don't have any furniture. That's how I got a kitchen table and chairs, two coffee tables, a side table, and some weird glass tables s'cool. Plus my parents gave me some of their old stuff like a couch, and let me keep the furniture I'd been using forever (bed, desk etc)

yeah, stayin in dayton. i have too much on my plate to move away.

i have been livin in this apartment for 3 whole weeks now and im startin to get used to it.

i got a matching couch and love seat, but they still need covers. theyre pretty hit, but comfy as hell.

basically all i need is 4 kitchen chairs, a dresser, and dude still hasnt given me that desk. but i got all the kitchen and bathroom stuff and my baby's stuff is over there and im almost completely set up.

i got my car running again thank god. if i took it to a place, they wouldve prolly charged me several hundred dollars for putting in a new starter. but i did it myself with help from a buddy and got it done for only the price of the starter of 130 bucks.

 

Hey Death! I've missed you! It sounds like you're doing quite well for yourself right now. When is your little boy due? I know you told me already, but I keep getting people's due dates mixed up!

Wow, that's coming up here real soon! My sister-in-law is due on July 14th. She's having a boy as well. But she has a 15 year old son from a previous marriage. It's going to be like starting all over again for her!

Nothing new here, same old, same old. Just trying to keep the kids busy and worn out so they don't torment one another, which is one of their favorite pasttimes.

 

yeah i dont have the net at my place yet, so i just hopped on the puter while im over at my moms doing laundry

 

Come do my laundry. Pretty, pretty please? I hate doing laundry and I always seem to have piles of it to do. It's a never ending chore!
