okay. i have a new plan. i want to get my tongue pierced(instead of nipple, which i wanted a little while ago and still do, except i think im going to have to get that one done professionally.) and since im still a teeny tiny minor and am discouraged from doing anything legal because of parental consent, im considering doing not at a professional tattoo/piercing shop. my friend says shes totally willing to do it and i know shes being serious. dont know how good that is, but whatever. has anybody done theirs themselves with good results, did it hurt a shitload, is it hard to get the needle through, what size needle, etc. thanks much.
If you have the slightest bit of common sense you will not do something this negligent. Your tongue has a major blood vessel in it which is attatched to a major artery. If you pierce the wrong place, you will literally bleed to death. I'm not going to advocate amateur piercings to a 15 year old, but if you must pierce something whatever you do, DO NOT TRY TO PIERCE YOUR TONGUE AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My boyfriend had a friend do his at home. It was terrible, he said. He told me that if he had it to do over again, he'd have gotten it done professionally. (But, he was drunk and being stupid.) I'd say, wait. It's just stupidity to do it yourself and risk messing it up.
Don't do it if you're truly interested, talk to your parents, see what it would take for them to sign a consent form. I talked my mom into letting me get my nose pierced when I was 15 or 16 (I forget which heh), it just took time and responsibility.
My friend pierced her tongue in two places herself. Personally, I would never do that to myself. It can be pretty damn risky. Just wait till you're 18, or get your parents to go with you.
Do you know: 1. Where to get medicut canula needles? 2What a medicute canula needle is? 3. How to properly size the barbell to your tongue? 4. How to properly place the piercing? 5. What nerves and blood vessels need avoiding? 6. How to properly heal the piercing? 7. What to do if there are problems? If you do, you might be able to do this in a responsible manner. If not, this is an uber bad idea. Peace
I think it would be a really, really bad idea to do that. Wait until you can go to a professional studio, otherwise you could have a whole load of problems such as infection or your tongue could split. Which is not pretty.
my daughter spent most of her hospital stay a few years back with a teen that had done her own piercing.... she was only there for 16 days,,,,,
i worked in a piercing parlor for a while, and honestly.... don't do it. we had a few young people come in there from time to time who had tried to do it themselves. not only will it mostly likely hurt a lot more than is necessary, but you run a serious risk of paralizing half your face. besides that, you also run a much higher risk for infection. running a needle through flame does not sterilize it. nor does dipping it in rubbing alcohol. think before you pierce. you may come out fine, but... are you willing to risk all that just to get a piercing a few years earlier? just my opinion, and we all know what those are like! blessings
honestly it was something many have done n do all the time at home,,,, top of the ear..... just infection went down thru her ear n down into the inner workings of ear n throat etc
oookay. somebody might be exaggerating. yeah, maybe some people get infected and shit, but i've met a lot of people that did their tongue themselves and they are, miraculously, still alive. i know, its amazing, its against all odds, its seemingly impossible. everyone that thinks they must be so much better than me or thinks im a shithead, fuck you. everyone that was actually seminice, even if you are totally against at home piercings, thank you much for being kind.
Go ahead and do it if you are so inclined. Some lessons you just have to learn the hard way I suppose.
