PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me!!!!! I'm looking for bruttaly honest (but also constructive) criticism on my voice/music. See, I'm looking for a band, have been for a while, but I feel like I'm fishing and only pulling up boots, when I pull anything up at all. And I figure, all the bands in LA looking for singers can't possibly just not notice me, so it's gotta be me, right? anyway, if you could go to www.myspace.com/mollylafleur, and listen to me, and let me know what you think, even if you think your opinoin will make me cry, I would be ETERNALLY grateful!
Well, I dunno much about singing, I'm kinda like you I guess. I definitely think the untitled bluesy one was the best though. The others had a few pitchy problems., but had potential.
thanks! The untitled one is one I wrote, the other 2 are sublime covers. I'll go back and check out the pitch problems, thank you so much! Other than pitch, what areas can I work on to make it better?
nice voice. The pitch prob would disappear if you were playing and practicing with a band on a regular basis.I also think you probably have a much more powerful voice than I heard on the ones you put up.Turn it loose and try some Joplin type stuff.See what happens.Just my opinon.
hmm, really hard for me. I mean its not my kind of singing, I like hard sounds rock, maybe if ya scream like Flyleaf, lol. I guess as a voice goes you sound good.
Boring, call me silly but it bored me. I mean, you're good, you have a beautiful voice. But the singing seems kind of mechanical. I'm totally of the opinion that you should flip out and loosen up. Also, you should learn piano, because then you don't need a band and a musician/singer is more desireable than just a singer.
Very nice voice. It really depends on what sort of musical aspirations you have, though. However, it should be good enough to front a band. BTW, I think Guava Jelly is originally a Bob Marley song.
Overall, you've got a lovely voice. If anyone heard you sing, they'd probably tell you that straight up. I agree that there are a few pitch problems, but you're also singing alcapella in these songs, and that's always a bit harder. If you were fronting a band I'm sure you'd be fine. I think your strongest singing is when you go bluesy. You've got a nice deep sultry voice. The examples you gave were a bit generic, I have to agree on that one, but I'm sure it's only an example of what you can do and you can probably hit a wider range. Maybe if you try putting up songs that are a bit wider in range and that are a bit more exciting, you could show your talent off more and you'd have a better chance. But yes, overall, your voice is very nice and I think you've got talent. Good luck in finding a band and reaching your goals
I agree. May I suggest when you d/l mp3's, make them the Kareoke version. Do your thing, and record THAT for test purposes. Just my 2c worth.
I can only listen to one song because my computer has problems, but i definitely love your voice. Good luck with finding a band.
dry? I'm sorry, not sure what you mean by that.... thanks guys, I put up 2 new songs, me and bobby mcghee being one. thanks again!
