sleep paralysis Is the awareness you have when your body becomes paralysed as you enter sleep. Im not shure how common it is but when it happens to you, youll know it! Something that has the same feeling brings on a lot of weird exsperiences in cluding outer body jeurneys. I was wondering if any one has had similar exsperiences, and i would like to share more with you. I will return with more when i have a chance to sit down and tipe. I must run. Peace to all
I HAVE! Wow, didn't know it was actually something that had a name. It was so weird but I was concious and aware of being asleep and I was paralysed. Only lasted for like 10 seconds or something (Least thats what it seemed like).
yea it is weird. i get it often. If you want to have the exsperience again the best way is to lye on your back and make sure that you are unomforatbly warm. Like ware a toke and a swetter of somthing. I remember my first exsperience. I was just lying there and i all the sudden relized that i couldent move exsept my eyes. I started to see a bright light. it was curved inward on all sides and was growing. I thought it was an angel or somthing and was getting exstreemly scared. I maneged to move the fingers in my right hand a littile and desspaetly tried to move my arm. I finally moved my arm and shook out of the crazyness. My first outer body exsperience was weird. I thought i was at my computer tring to figure out what game i was playing when i suddenly whent blind. i then apered at my side table about 4 feet from my bed. I was struggling to stand. I almost felt like i was drunk in that i had little coontrol of my legs/balence. I then stumbled towards my bed . When i went to lay down i relized that i was laying into my self and then woke up. If had more exsperences later but this was my first and the first one i seemed to teleport to diferent plases.
Do you guys get the intense pressure/tingling/vibrations through your body? I find that whatever I do, try to move, try to submit to the paralysis, try to wake up, that sort of wracking sensation just gets more intense. Way back when I was like 8-10 I thought I was having dreams about drowning in pressurized water or something.
I've had a few OOB (out-of-body) experiences, and I've had several experiences with sleep paralysis. After the first few times, it wasn't quite so scary.
i experience sleep paralysis at least 4-5 nights a week... sometimes 4-5 times a night. i have plenty! of stories if anyone's really intersted.
yea, i used to get it in school and at least once a week at home, but not in a while. they happen most for me in late morning or afternoon. but once you get used to them they are pretty fun. except sometimes the pressure on your lungs makes it hard to breathe. it fun to just listen to the auditory hallucinations and body hallucinations. ive never left my body but i always here whirrings and shit like off some UFO movie
I've had that before. It usually happens to me in the mornings, and like zenmunchy said, when im lying on my back. It feels really cool. I tend to drift in and out of it as well.
Sleep Paralysis I Experiance Often... A Few Times a Week...Sometimes Only Few Times a Month... But I Have Had them All of my Life... First Experaince was as a Child...Around 8 Years of Age...In my Room...I Woke up...Found I Couldn't move my Body...Yet Found my Eyes Could Look round Room...And I was Fully Aware of my Being...It Seemed as If I Could Move my Fingers...Barely...The Very Tips... I was Frightened... Looking Around to the Side of my Bed...The Night Light Plugged into Wall was on...And my Toys...They were Moving! Flying Around... This I Found Quite Distressing...And Attempted to Cry out for my mother...But Find Out I Could Not Utter a Sound...And Panicked Even more... Since Then...They Seemed to Have Gotten more Frightening... For Example...One Time...I saw Tall Hooded Figures in Black Robes Floating Around my Room...About Three of Them...And Suddenly...One was Floating Over in my Direction... Sometimes...I Feel my Feet Being Touched...Or the Quilt Being Pulled... Strange Lights I See From Outside Window...UFO kind of Lights... Creeping Creatures...Hiding in the Shadows... Just a Presence...Of Something...Wanting to Harm me... Even...As if...At Times...I am Abroad an Alien Ship...And Sense Them All Around me... So much...To Describe...And Yet...Apart from those Images that Seem perfectly Real...Everything Else About the Room I'm in is as It is... I Can Even Hear my Dog Breathing...Or the Wind Outside Blowing... Usually...I Just See Images...And I Have Learned to keep my Eyes Closed...As They are Quite Disturbing Images at Times... But...Quite Recently...I Have Began to Hear...Sounds... If you Have Ever saw the Movie...Something...Japanese Woman that Comes out of Well and Walks Towards T.V...Then Climbs Out... Well...The Croaking Noise She Makes...I Heard that Noise in my Room...As if Right by me...And I Totally Freaked Out..It was Scary... I Know non of these...Illusions are Real...But they are Realistic... Just as you Know a Scary Movie is Not Real...But is Still Able to make you Jump... I Don't Know Why I Get Sleep Paralysis so Often...Or What it is All About... I Just Find Them Frightening...And Would Rather Not Have Them... Suddebly Waking in middle of Night to Hear Heavy Breathing From What Seems Next to Your Ear...And to Then Feel Something Touch Your Feet...Is Not Actualy That great an Experiance... However...I Have Not yet Had an out of Body Experiance...
I get sleep paralysis too. Sometimes I halucinate and other times I don't. The scariest halucination was I saw a deranged little girl holding a krife over my head saying I'm gonna cut you over and over again. I get sleep paralysis in school sometimes too. Like when I put my head on the desk and start to drift off to sleep and then all of a sudden I can't move or sleep. quite scary.
I get this all the time. Sometimes I can`t tell If I am having an OBE or if it`s just sleep paralysis. I usually get it after an OBE like I can`t get back into my body it`s very scary especially with all the different things I feel. Like a horrible presence surrounding me. When you are on another plane you never know what you`re gonna come in contact with and that just makes me uneasy. I find that sleep paralysis mostly happens when you are extremely over tired and fall asleep. I actually just posted something about this exact thing but I only got one reply. I wanted to know if anyone could tell the difference or how to master having an OBE with control so it`s not so scary. When I was much younger, I always had problems sleeping, terrifying problems because everytime I closed my eyes i felt something coming near me and it was so scary. This went on for years untill my mom actually took me to some lady who performed a spell or exorcism, I`m not sure what it was because I was so young. My mom never told me what that was all about. But it got much better after that lady did..something. Anyways though one night I was in my room having trouble sleeping and feeling horrible things so i went to sleep in my moms room. I had this doll called "Cricket", you can look it up on google Im sure, and she talked and moved her mouth and eyes, very fuckin creepy. She ALWAYS freaked me out so I had to keep her in my moms room, no way I could sleep with her sitting there. I fell asleep but I guess I had this horrible dream that I was laying there looking at the doll when suddenly she started talking to me and got up from her chair, ran at me and started attacking me and it was so scary because I couldn`t move or do anything. This happened over and over. I swear I was SCREAMING my lungs out, trying to kick and punch and trying SO hard to atleast tap my mom or scream for her but nothing came out and I couldnt move. SO terrifying. I finally woke up though. It was scary because I didn`t know I had fallen asleep so it seemed even more real because I just fell asleep staring at that damn doll. This isn`t the only incident I have had like this...there are so many more and they are always so frightening. Great now I`m going to have a night terror now that I am thinking about it!! probably can`t even sleep tonight. Anyways anyone have advice on having OBEs?
This is the Cricket doll I was talking about. Now just imagine it`s eyes moving around and the mouth really moves when she sings and talks. Fucking creepy.
i know ive gotten it once, but i shrugged it off becuase i saw it before on tv some time ago, just closed my eyes and went back to sleep. Anyhow, more recently, ive been catching my self on the verge of sleep and when i breathe it feels very deep and tiring, and my eyes hurt like ive been awake for a long time, even though they are closed. it only happens though when i sleep on my side in a lazilly curled position. *looks up* although this last part might be for a different forum.. Yea, um, to stay back on subject, i really didnt think anything of my experience. I think different effects are cuased becuase the brain lets out different levels of the chemical that induces dreams and its mixed with real senses.
It is to bad that im hearing all this fear. I wonder, Dose any of you who have bad exsperiences with SlpPrs. ever trip out? I cant ignore the simularities between both subjects. I admit it is a scary sinsation when im going into SlpPrs. but ive learned to imbrace the visual and auditary hallusinations. I mean the scaryiest thing ive incounterd was what seemed to be an angel hovering above me. T help with some of you who wish to streangthen your self to be able to have OBE's I cant realy say much but its realy what's in you. Your willingness to exsplore is the only thing that will help your strength. Do your best to over come the fear you have and your exsperinces will be more peacefull, again a lot like tripping! Good luck to all
I've always wondered what it was and thank god for this post. I've been having them since I was a child, not as often now. ALWAYS happens when I'm laying on my stomach and get tingling feelings in my back. Then bang I can't move, can't speak, feels so damn real, and again have the weirdest tingling feeling in my back, its horrible.
Hmm thats odd that you get it while on your stomic. I only seem to get it on my back and when i just want to sleep, i roll over on my side or stomic and i go right to sleep. Again its too bad that your haveing bad exsperiences from it.
Everynight everyone experiences sleep paralysis. This is bc when u sleep you have like ..4 levels of sleep. You know when u first fall asleep and and hear something u can wake up instantly...bc thats the first level. But when u enter level 4 and start dreaming..your brain sort of paralyzes you so that you dont act out your dreams. People who sleep walk...well their brains dont paralyze them very well. Anyway i think what you guys are talkin about is when u KNOW u just woke up but cant move...thats some freaky shit but its only your brain bein lazy and not like...un-paralzying you...u know what i mean????
I'm not sure if this relates to anything, but increasingly I have dreams in which I'm doing something, let's say jogging. So I'm jogging and then i need to jump over something and my legs try to jump while I'm still lying down. It usually happens while I'm falling asleep, but I'm sure it happens while I'm in a deep sleep. Often I'll dream a scene from my quite early childhood, but not from my own perspective. It's kind of funny, but still feels a bit odd.
