As some of you know, I started a thread awhile ago titled 'No Need for Vegetarianism'. Well I was looking back on it and you guys have convinced me actually. I see your point now how we have evolved past the need for meat, and I would like to become a Vegetarian. I know its not hard to start, and you just give up eating meat, replaced by more healthy greens and such... but Im just wondering, would it be more expensive to live like that? Thanks

it really does depend on your eatting style and if you perfer organic or non organic. Organic foods are expensive but I think they do taste better. I spent 134 bucks last week on all organic veggies/fruits. If you are not a fan of organics then you could probably make it on 35 bucks a week for one person.

very happy to hear that!not expensive at all. actually i've spent less money because instead of eating out all the time i was buying things from the grocery store. it really was a pretty easy transition. i did have some temptations in the begininng but once you get over that first "hump" you will never go back. being a vegan is the most natural thing i could have ever done. i look back and am disgusted that i used to eat animals.

I spend about $20 CDN on vegetables, fruits, tofu and soymilk a week. Some weeks I spend a little more, I call those my stocking up weeks where I buy bulk beans, bulk rice, bulk pasta, bulk granola and condiments, which usually amounts to $30 CDN.

If you want to save money avoid packaged products and eating out.

"evolved past the need for meat" . arhahahharhaa

your loss. not eating meat isnt a healthier choice.
    infact youd be malnutriciened.

vegetarianism is just another psychological problem, just like bulimia.
fucking stop obsessing over food, thats what bulimcks do.

oh, when you find a restaurant that CAN make decent veggie cuisine, you will have to exercise restraint. It will be hard.
