What a load of shit. Ok its handy with everythin bein under one window but for web browsing its just a load of shit. Most of the time the pages dont load and when they do less than half the pictures are shown. If you are considering gettin aol 9.0 dont its obviously not finished yet plus aol constantly try to access your computer to find out whats on it. Also ive deleted all the internet history i can find on my computer but the aol browser still somehow manages to keep it all for everyone on this computer to see. I think youv gotta be a programmer to actually be able to work this stupid piece of shit. Good luck to any computer noobies who try to use this.
Ugh, yes, AOL is complete shit. The main thing that pisses me off with AOL is the fact that you have to pay, what, $23.00 or more a month? Then, after paying that much money for an ISP you cannot rely on to connect you at the appropriate speed, they STILL bombard you with adds. That's so sad that AOL is actually forcing you to deal with useless ads when you're paying them a premium price.
AOL is probably the worse isp ever. How did it last so long? I have no clue. The browser is the biggest peice of crap ive ever seen. When i first got a computer I was disapointed I didnt have aol because I wanted to be cool and have the messenger and @aol.com email. Now, I'm happy I didnt get it when I realise what a hunk of crap it is. Get verizon if youre looking for a cheap dsl service. I have that and comcast, dont ask, my family is weird.
The connection aint that bad i just got my dsl today theyv got a good deal goin right now (19.99 a month no setup fees no connection costs and a free modem) but the browser is the main problem because its just so shit. What browser are all you guys using. Try www.flashpeak.com for an excellent browser IMO ive been usin this one for the last couple of years now and have had little or no problems with it and the only problems i have had have been real easy to fix.
My grandpa used flashpeaks sim browser for awhile, i think its basicly made off of the mozilla code from what I could tell. So check out www.mozilla.com too.
I use internet explorer, but that comes from a programmers outlook. It seems that I.E. Interepts code the best, but mozilla is just as good (FireFox), I just dont like the way Firefox is setup for some reason.
yeah - just in case anyone doesn't already know... AOL is the biggest ripoff in the biz - and their service sucks, too. I got it free for 6 months with my first machine. When the trial was up, I switched to cable right away. Funny this is...five years later and my aol email and aim are both still active.
