I know this is a sensitive subject But I am wondering exactly what is allowed if anything? What I mean is: Can a favorable depiction of Muhammad be displayed as in a sculpture saying he was one of the most imporntant law givers in history?
Dirk_Pitt Displayed by who? a Muslim? BTW some Muslims draw him, yeah, I saw that(= *Peace and love* =) Yours Sincerely, Cat Stevens
I can't believe this? And what does he exactly mean by the ''sword'? May you Allah my Lord bless this man, Amen*Peace and love* Yours Sincerely,Cat Stevens
I saw a drawing but a sculpture, NEVER, I'm still shocked, Can't believe it Thank you dear brother for this very new info *Peace and love* Yours Sincerely,Cat Stevens
Dirk_Pitt Actually I believe that 99.99% or 99% of Muslim scholars and sheikhs and clerics against it, but some Shia do so (drawings) not sculptures, According to my own studies, making sculpture isn't allowed (of animals - humanbeings) trees, mountains OK, That's what I Undrestand it from many Haddeeths. but I'm not a scholar It is better to ask a scholar.*Peace and love* Yours Sincerely,Cat Stevens
Dirk_Pitt So, there is no explanation for that, Imean he didn't give an explanation for his work,...no problem *Peace and love* Yours Sincerely,Cat Stevens
Asalamu aleykum! dirk_pitt. There is a clear visdome behind forbiding these kinds of sculptures/pictures as they tend to lead to idoltary. The first idols ever worshipped was -according to the famous companion ibn Abbas- due to some people wanting to honor their righteous preceedors. As time flue by, the later generations forgot the reason behind these old scuptures and started worshipping them. We see an interesting similtude with the catholics of today, ever noticed how often people bow down to a statue of the blessed Mary, asking and praying to her without even considering their comitting shirk? The beauty of islam is that it doesnt want you to get in the filth in the first place, that is to say; instead of just forbidding the sin it self it locks all paths leading to the sin aswell. This is why, the prophet (sallalaahu alayhi wa salam) , when praised by his companions one day, told them: "Do not over praise me as the christians over-praised the son of Mary. I am His slave so say: 'Allah's slave and messenger' [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim] and he also forbade his companions to make his grave into a place of worship.
cabdirazzaq Wa aleykum AsSalam Masha'Allah brother ^^, Masha'Allah, *Peace and love* Yours Sincerely,Cat Stevens
