Is there such an entity as The USA?
What defines a "country" or a "nation"
Surely the USA is just a bunch of corporations
which have no moral responsibility to anyone
the only responsibility they have is to a body
laughably known as government - and that is
a bunch of arseholes all of whom run some corporate
structure for profit. The USA is nothing to live and die for
it is just a get rich quick scheme and you may as well
pledge alleigence to Microsoft as The USA
    Any takers?

Right, um, there are hundreds of millions of Americans, not all of them corporate officers.

No the rest would be the well programmed consumerbots convinced the same routine will continue undisturbed for perpetuity. A rude wake up call is drawing nearer all the time.

What do you mean "Americans" ?
    What is the USA?
what else is the USA but a bunch of corporations with a flag
    that citizens work for?
Not all of them work for corporations but that is who your government represents !
People do not matter in the USA unless they are rich and belong to a corporation

Americans - people native to, or citizens of, the United States of America. Yes, we have greed and crooked politicians (what country doesn't?), but the country as a whole, all those who inhabit it, can't be categorized so easily.

A country is an abstraction, no doubt. That's true of the US or any other country. We're all just people no matter where.

I pledge allegiance to no one. I support no president. No bank owns my home. I use no credit. I pay no interest. I am slave to no one, no corporation.

I am the exception to your rule, therefore your statements are null.

Now. Why don't you go back to bashing the French and leave those of us who don't wish to play W's games the fuck alone, Mmmmkay? Because that's how we want it. We are a part of nothing. Keep your labels. Worry about your own big-eared gits.

Wal-Mart......General Motors....Exxon.....McDonalds.......etc....Yeah I see the point being made but the USA is also the country that rescued a bankrupt Europe in 1947 having fought a war that it could not afford to pay for -with Soviet Stalinist Communism happy to pick up the tab if no one else would.

The Americans also stopped the Japanese invasion of mainland China & attempted mass extermination of the Chinese from 1937 - 1945.

Whatever the faults in Iraq, The USA,historically, has been the beacon of light in the world sea of darkness.

This is the coolest thing I have heard for such a long time. My thoughts exactly! Have you seen the movie "V for Vendetta?". You should if you haven't. Very political.

Every time the US economy takes a down turn they soon find a reason to go to war, money spent = money gained = money pillaged, pretty good investment.

I think they stopped the attempted mass extermination of the Chinese pretty well. Hiroshima solved everyone's problems. Why are you so keen on helping the commies anyway especially at that time? McCarthyism was only a couple of years later... Obviously nothing to do with testing nuclear weapons on living people???

Oh well, they'll stop Chinese 'problems' next when China sells it's american dollars and creates a massive hole in US finances.

@ the original poster - you think the UK is much better?? It's easy to criticise somewhere 3000 miles away, harder to smell the shit right under your own nose. Yes, ok, america = the devil wow point made, you're very clever [IMG] but home is just as bad in many other ways. We're both as bad as each other but have different ways of doing things....

Just a thought... 2 sides to every coin...

Sources? References that aren't general? Nope? Try adding that to make your thread worthwhile.

Which is why far more (in terms of comparison) govt. subsidies are available for small business owners than corporations (some are heavily-subsidized, but few as much as small business)?

I wouldn't serve in the military because someone or a group tells me to. If I felt that there was an actual threat to my, or those that I care about's liberty, I would, without hesitation, volunteer to protect those persons and liberties. Of my own will. Military service should have nothing to do with either money, nor peer pressure, nor government demands. Military service should be entirely voluntary, and I would suggest to you that all persons have both a right and a responsibility to serve in the military when their liberties are threatened. And not necesary in service of the government; often against.
