Tell me, what do people really think or this man. Is he a total nut, or the biggest revolutionary in american history?

I think he is a god among man; LSD is an incredible tool. We owe it to him for giving us this wonderous creation.

Albert Hofmann created LSD - not Abbie Hoffman, though I won't deny Abbie's usage and promotion of the drug.

I never was much for any Hippie "leaders".

Alwyas thought the diversific ation was what maed the Hippie mind.
That being said, Abbie, was certinly a cool personality and a great hippie, whenever he did not try to be one.

actually it was a "yippie vs. yuppie" speaking tour. jerry rubin is the one who sold out and became a yuppie.
and i can't understand anyone who looks at suicide and holds it against the person. maybe you should see the movie (even tho i'm very mad at it) cause maybe then you'll understand more. america (his child) was not a child when abbie killed himself. and america had spent a big chunk of his time without his father. and is doing just fine in life now.
and abbie was a revolutionary. do you realize how much has changed because of all the activism back then? and he was one of the main guys getting all the hippies to care about politics instead of just sitting around going "let's love everything" i'm sorry, but i think you need to learn a little more about history

Saw him speak once at a rally in Boston, 1971. I was too stoned to remember anything specific he said, just that he had an incredible amount of passion for his causes.

Steal This Movie was quite good, showing him as both the crusader and the flawed human being he was.
