My interest in the Cannabis plant began with its recreational use, including its performance enhancing qualities. Then I read much of The Emperor Wears No Clothes and became just as interested in the -many- practical applications of hemp, primarily as an alternative to Petroleum.

Then on David Suzuki's The Nature of Things I saw a man who lives with Multiple Sclerosis being given medical marijuana. This man usually shakes violently, but upon being given a couple hits of some good marijuana, he almost completely stopped smasming and was able to function normally. This is when my interest in Medical Marijuana peaked. What a fabulous medicine. The diversity it has as a medicine blows my mind. MS, Asthma, Arthritis, Pain, Chronic Weight Loss, Nausea, and much more, I'm sure.

Everything I've found out about marijuana can be discovered without stepping very far out of the bounds of the mainstream. So how on earth is the world not rejoicing in gods finest gift? Between the three sectors of cannabis application (Recreation & Performance enhancement, Hemp, and Medicine) I don't think its an overstatement to say Marijuana can save the world.

Soooo, why is this train of thought still held by the minority?

It's THE MAN, man, he's keepin' us down man...

Seriously, it's mostly about money, many people with power have too much financial interests in pot's illegality to not try to keep it that way. And it's also about millions of people being duped by drug war propaganda.

Such a silly question! Its because its bad and only lowlifes use it! Its the devils plant. :X

Notice the sarcasm. Marijuana is slowly becoming legal I think. ATleast for medical purposes, thats the first step, the next step is getting a perscription for it :D .. Quite a few states have legalized it for medical purposes and I believe one right around now is voting on it. Think of how much we could accomplish if we really really did somthing about it instead of just talking about it. I myself am a perpetrator of that also. Even though now it is illegal for recreation use in the united states in every state some places are still relaxed about it.

As we are on the point of this if kerry is elected what will the stance be on marijuana? I know at the democratic convention there were alot of marijuana signs posted around town. Please no one bring any sort of political view in on this and start talking about politics, kerry vs bush stuff.

You guys know this whole legalizing thing would go a lot easier if you guys quit hiding behind the whole, 'weed is such a great medicine, why can't we use it for helping?", this just shows the anti-cannibus people that stoners lie too, so we are just as bad as they are. Just admit it, you could give a fuck if some man in china has the shakes or not, you just want to get high and not get busted and grounded by your parents.

Once we are honest, maybe the world will look at us differently, but right now, they just see us as saying anything to get weed legalized, and they are right.
