While watching a show on CNN about the DaVinci Code. They had two scholars. One of these gentleman said he was a Christian who wasn't 100% sure whether or not Christ existed. I was like...Huh? To me if anything else I think a general belief in the fact Christ existed is somewhat paramount to being a Christian. It's like saying you're a dad and not being sure if you have kids. While I'm a Christian who believes that Jesus was and is God. I'd think you have to at LEAST believe he existed. There's atheists who believe that much. Thoughts?
I completely agree! I mean it is virtually undisputed that Jesus at least was alive at one time! I don't see how you can say you follow the teachings of someone and say they may have never existed! That is like saying I will hop down the bunny trail because Peter Cottontail did!
Yes, I would say a belief that Jesus Christ existed would help one's faith...but whether he existed or not, it's all about finding the eternal spiritual life within and treating one's fellows decently, not "salvation" from some imaginary Original Sin. Personally, I have no doubt that Jesus existed.
No man, it makes perfect sense. Have you seen that one episode of Family Guy ... episode 1 of season 5. Anyhow, Brian goes to a PTA meeting, and sees Quagmire there, and he's like "Quagmire, what are you doing at a PTA meeting? You don't have kids!" and he's like "Heh heh, don't be so sure Brian, I've slept with women all over the world! I could have kids in their 20's!" ^_^ Then it goes to a cutscene of some Quagmire spawn in Spain.
