what's something you remember from your childhood that you miss?

my main one is my fearlessness. i used to be scared of nothing. i'd play with worms and collect rolie polies and just explore the unthinkable with my imagination. i miss the freedom and innocence of being a kid, i guess.

hehe, another childhood type thread. awesome :D

i miss the summer time, when my family would all go up to mccall for weekends. we had a boat, and fireworks for fourth of july. some mornings i would go with my dad in the boat and drive into town and get the paper with him. then there was tubing(which i was pretty much scared shitless of, along with many other things as a child :p), hiking(i REALLY miss that...), and bees (dont miss them at all...). and the fire...i looooved the fire. i used to just stare at it at night and see all sorts of crazy things with my imagination :) aww...good times

we still have the cabin, but its been years since i have been up there...i want to go there by myself someday, but i think i have to go with my mom or uncle if i am allowed to go there...but i could always go up without them knowing :D

the endless hockey. every day. non-stop street hockey in the spring/summer/fall. in the winter it'd be league games/shinney in the neighbouring town/my backyard rink (complete with boards and solid nets).

staying at a cabin near Mammoth. the Elephant Show everyday at 2 pm channel 47 (lol). being able to sit and play board games by myself and be entertained (good imagination?). being good at crafts. getting straight As all the time. having long hair. being a ballerina every halloween. my grandma. my best friends. thinking I could fly if I believed in myself. not knowing so much that the magic in many things was still there. my mom doing my hair for me (i'm lazy, shut up). thinking puff paint and scrunchies were awesome. loving Gak. stick on earrings. getting whatever i wanted from the grocery store cause i was cute when i pout.

    and more.

I miss family vacations. Like Hawaii and Mexico. They we're great, and it was a great way to bond as a family.

Hmmm... I think living in Indiana... I sure loved that. Alabama was also a cool place to live. Or even when I was like 8 and 9, and I used to come home from school and my mom would make me grilled cheese sandwhiches while we watched Lassie (the really REALLY new ones!) and Zooventure on Animal Planet. That was always fun.

But now, I can drive, in about 19 days I can do almost anything I want that is legal (except drink and go into casinos, which is a real shitty deal, because I want to go into a damn casino and play poker and shit!). I have a lot more general freedom, and all that jazz. I mean, I would rather be (almost) 18 now than be a pre-pubesant kid any day I think.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! What a brilliant concept. :D

Also, I miss having toy and cereal commercials between shows rather than diet and boner pill commercials. :$

Hmm. I forgot about that! Man, I was a big fan of our "heros in a half-shell". I still have like 20-something VHS tapes of like cartoons I bought, including 3 box sets! Man, they were so great!

Yeah, nowadays I guess they conlcluded all those toys and cereals made everybody fat and impotent or something. Ephedra and Enzyte have replaced supersoakers and lucky charms, I guess...
