So, I'm coming to the Dam in July for the first time. I live in mozambique and am 21. i will be coming there for Sensation Black OMG!!!!!!! I still can't believe it. i am going to stay in the Greenhouse Effect hotel and was wondering if anyone has anything to say about it? i would like some info on the coffee shop too - the sound of staying in a hotel/coffee shop was too good to be true so i'm wondering if it is. As for Sensation i will be needing some, uh "supplies" to help me FEEL THE BEATS should i say and was wondering if anyone could help me out with that also. i'm not some freak of nature just want to enjoy my 22nd birthday and my move to Europe. Any comments greatly appreciated.
That propably wouldn't be a problem. Most people in the Arena will have some supplies and there will be supliers. Just ask around in the Arena or else go to some club the night before and you can get whatever you want.
Wikked, thanks. What about the coffee shop? anyone been there heard of it? Barrus, you going to sensation at all?
I have heard of it, but don't really now what it's like. No chance in this world I'll be there, I don't really like the music and can't stand to dance the entire night. But I know some friends who'll go there
ok cool Thanks man, my partner in crime might be letting me down for the trip. i bought his sensation tickets for him booked his room everything, i can't believe it. maybe i should just bring a chick along anyway
Best idea to do. It is a fine party, sensation. If you are here in the Netherlands you need to look if you can go to the Hemkade in the weekend. You'll find everything you need for sensation there, they throw great parties, if you're into that kind of stuff. The Hemkade is just outside Amsterdam
Cool, Cheers thanks. Appreciate your help, i checked out the website for Hemkade, in dutch so i really didn't understand much but it looks good enough. - not good enough but excellent - some good dj's in one of the line ups too. i shall be checking that one out for sure.
Greenhouse Effect (coffeeshop / hotel) The several Greenhouse coffeeshops around Amsterdam have a fairly good rep. I've not personally stayed in their hotel but there are cheaper places to crash. It's a bit of a gimmick, imo, with their themed decor rooms and prices to match but the coffeeshop on the ground floor was fairly intimate, cosy and homely. It has a bit of a ''den'' style at the back, shared tables, etc, and an OK window seat to watch all the tourist pass by. I've not bought weed from this place but I have scored from Greenhouse Centrum and really pleased with their white widow. Greenhouse Effect and it's hotel is on a very busy street so you'll have to put up with noise from 6am to 3am if you have a room that looks over the street that is. I've stayed in a hotel within several paces away and believe me the noise is loud and if it wasn't for the weed and Heineken to knock me out I would never have slept. I wonder if their weed prices are the same in Greenhouse Effect as the Centrum, etc. Shit, I've just knocked over my ash tray onto the floor, LOL
Cheers thanks man, I think i will be getting knocked out by the weed and heineken too, i'm staying in "Red Man" looks like the view from the window is right onto another building so i don't think it looks on to the road - Hopefully. Anyway thanks a lot for all the Help
I have stayed in the GHE Hotel twice before and rate it very highly - for what I need it for anyway. Stayed once in the twin Retro Room and once in the single Outer Space Room...both on the top floor (if I remember right, the red man is on the middle floor, so you miss out a flight of stairs at least). I was only interested in a quite place to sleep and have breakfast, with a good location near the centre...and this place definately has it all. I stay up late anyway so probably went to bed after all the noise outside had quietend anyway. Only downer was getting woken up around 10am by the delivery guys outside, and the street cleaners - but I guess that serves me right for sleeping so late in Amsterdam of all places. Can't really recommend the coffeeshop as I am a big fan of the Coin (less than 50m away) so spent more time here - but I would love to stay in the hotel again given the choice and availability.
I have stayed in the "City Oasis" apartment that Greenhouse has at the Niuwmarkt or somethig.. Absolutely TOP place to stay.. Guess I can't say too much about the hotel, as we were only there a couple of times trough our visit.. But the people are totally great, and they'll help you out with anything. There is NO doubt where I'm staying the next time I go to the Dam. The coffeeshop is also great. The hotel/bar and the coffeeshop is two different premises, but you can just buy your weed and step right out of the door and in again if you prefer to sit in the bar to smoke. The smoke is great, they have everything you need, and GREAT munchies Have a GREAT trip! I wish I could afford one too, but lookes like my landlord is taking all my vacation-money away..

hey there bong boy, you won't be able to post Flash animations direct into the forums, btw. Only animated gifs work.
yeah i guessed, pitty i was quite excited about that by the way - your map is wikked how can i take it with me? i read that you were going to create a jpeg, have you done it by any chance? islandgirl said she used it a lot i'm sure it will help me a lot too
No I've not got round to it yet, but you are able to print it now by several different methods. Just make sure you print in colour as if it's in B&W you cant tell the difference between canals and roads. I will be making a JPEG copy within a week hopefully and adding a few more new coffeeshops as well.
sounds great. i will wait for it, i didn't realise there are so many coffee shops shit, - - i just realised 2423 posts SHIT you have been here a while. they should name a forum after you!
