It sits atop an aging mountainside, lush with vegetation and forest. It enjoys bathing in both the lights of dawn and dusk. There's a single path up the mountain, forged by the small group who founded the place. When you reach the end of the path, you're greeted by a large wooden structure. A small castle made of trees. And indeed, it's modeled after a fortress. Inside: a courtyard full of gardens, growing fruits, vegetables and herbs. To the eastern side, a small temple, non-denominational and filled with works of art: from sculptures to paintings, an elaborate myriad of inspiration. A temple of imagination, tapping into the divine. On the opposite side: living quarters, a kitchen and a library rich in counter culture. Think Burning Man, think Black Rock City, only this is Black Rock Mountain. Far from being an escape from society, it is a birth of a new society. A society without a yesterday or a tomorrow, the only divinity is within the moment. A rich new culture of art and imagination, creativity and discovery. Those living here are no hermits, but active in creating a fruitful life. Each is involved in some way, and not on Spirit Mountain. They write, they create, they protest, they make projects. Soon, this place becomes labeled Block Rock City's countryside. The sister city of the mountains. Soon, many begin to flock to Spirit Mountain. The castle is suddenly town, and on specific occasions, it becomes a city - huge events are held yearly, where the mountain is smothered in tents. Spirit Mountain becomes a Mecca to the West, a place where the light can be found within them, and the spark of divinity sets their lives ablaze.
