Not really, though... but moreso than usual, I'd have to agree. When I was in Driver's Ed, my teacher (a black coach) told me a story about him being arrested for trying to open one of the doors to get into the county garage to get a bus (he has a CDL and drives people to track meets). They thought he was stealing biodiesel out of the buses. What haircut? I have no pictures in my gallery.
that sucks ma they do that around here...just with cigarettes the AT(h)F (if only ), okay, the ATF sends a kid in to try to buy cigarettes and you obviously have to ID him and say "no get the fuck out" well, when they came around when i was a cashier the kid they sent in was no fun at all he looked like he was 12 lol, i was like "wow...try harder guys" maybe i jinxed you... if so i apologize ma!
In BC, they send young looking kids as well. They aren't trying to trap you - they want to find people who are knowingly selling to minors.
yeah they try to trap you here. thats why i'm mad about it. but i dont have a criminal record, so maybe the judge will just toss it out.
edit: i'm just not letting that statement be for all to see, since i do have to go to court. i follow the law when it comes to my job. i do my best to judge each person's age and ID all I think are under 30. the end
matters if i have to appear before the judge or not. i just have to see the county clerk and file my plea first. sometimes they just give you your fee then, other times they tell you when to come see the judge. in which case, i would assume yes. i am pleading guilty. since i cant do "no contest"
if i were you i would plead innocent until the end i mean if the business you worked at or whatever trusted your best judgement on something, then they should be held responsible, if anyone, imo
they have a video/audio recording of me being at the register and him buying it without being IDed.. why would i fight that? My business can't be held responsible for my judgement. I was running the store, I made the choice. I'm at fault. I'm pleading guilty to selling it, cause I DID do that. I can refuse service for ANY reason I want, so it was my decision to do the transaction. Its a minor crime, nothing to get a lawyer over.
hey man you're takin it that way you want power to ya depending if i was in the right mood, i wouldn't let it go that easy i hope you dont get a big fine or nothin
I don't have a problem with cops in general, but some of them are REAL asses! Some cops I know are really good guys, but others are just power-tripping shitheads! Maybe the judge will take it easy on you. You were obeying all laws. It doesn't say card anyone under 30, but card anyone who LOOKS under 30. This is of course interpretable from perosn to person. If this person obviously looks over 30, and the judge agrees, what is their case? You obeyed law and store policy?! It isn't your fault the system is not well thought out, full of holes and doesn't always work right! Explain you were doing what you were told, and that you think this should be chalked up as experiance and that the laws should be altered! Change it to anyone looking under 35 or 40 or something. I know I woulnd't feel comfortable carding a 90 year old man. But the whole thing is shit and not really your fault. It is the systems fault. However, they don't want to admit their system is a peice of shit so you are having to suffer for it. I would try to buddy up with the judge and say "I am as shocked as anyone that it didn't work right! What we need to do is alter this system so it is more efficiant! By saying anyone looking under 30, it is putting the judgement into the hands of the casheir. We need to find out a better way to do this, so it never happens again! I have trouble sleeping at night thinking that some 17 year old kid fooled our system and is possibly driving drunk!"
