BEWARE OF SPOILERS!! I couldn't find a thread for this...so here it is. I've read the books many times...and thought we could talk about it. In Book 6, does anyone doubt that R.A.B. is Regulus Black? In Book 5 when Harry, Sirius, and the Weasleys are cleaning the house, do you remember a specific locket that wouldn't open that they threw away without a second thought? Do you believe that THAT LOCKET is the real horcrux Harry needed at the end of Book 6? Dumbledore's death...how did you react? Do any of you think Sirius is somehow going to be able to contact Harry before the end of the series? Those are just starter questions, please feel free to add anything you want.
I think that Dumbledore was acctually begging Snape to kill him, not to spare his life, because he knew he was going to die, knew that Snape had made an unbreakable vow, and that he knew that the order of the phoenix needed a spy(Snape). Of course, i'm probably wrong. Just a thought though.
i agree and i really feel that rab is regulus black because jkr brought that locket in book 5 for a reason. i think so anyway.
oh wow i don't even remember that locket from book 5! interesting observation. i'm almost 90% sure RAB is regulus. as for dumbledore's death- i think it was kind of staged. i'm not sure if it even happened and i think dumbledore could still be alive. i think dumbledore and snape had it all planned. notice how when snape did the 'avada kedavra' curse, the light wasn't even green and dumbledore flew through the air. maybe snape didn't use enough power for it and it didn't work properly (like when harry tries to do unforgiveable curses but they aren't as powerful as they should be) . the only things wrong with that prediction is that his picture showed up in the headmaster's office and the funeral, unless that was staged too. it's all just a bundle of confusion for me! dumbledoreisnotdead.com --i think that's it. it's got a lot of great stuff about the whole thing. and lastly, i do think that sirius will somehow communicate with harry. it wasn't a proper death, he's only behind the veil, which perhaps leaves some 'door' open for a kind of communication. i think she killed him that way for a reason. i can't wait for book 7:-D
oh right! i totally agree with you on the way she killed sirius for a reason. but i wonder whhy dumbledore went up in the sky when he was 'killed' because that is an odd thing to happen if the curse did not work. i honestly feel it was all staged but then next term there will be his picture in the headmasters office and didnt mcgonagall get into dumbledores office when only the head person could get into? meaning he must truely be gone? i think thats what happened...but anyway, im really anxious to see what happens with snape.
yeah the portrait thing is what really threw me off. i dunno about only the headmaster being able to get into the office, because look at how harry just walks right in all the time? it could be true tho. i do have a feeling dumbledore is really gone, but i still hope not
but didnt dumbledore lock it right before he left with harry for the horcrux? and then it just opened or something to mcgonagall? ahhh i dunno
Sirius isn't dead; I'm sure of it. But the horcrux... excellent observation! It makes perfect sense! Now I'll have to reread 5 all over again.
as soon as i saw R.A.B i thought regulus black. though i remember finding an excellent reason as to why it couldn't have been him. the only problem is, i forget the actual reason :/ so disregard that. i never picked up on the horcrux in no. 5, i agree with dip, exellent observation. regarding snape killing dumbledore, i believe he was on voldemort's side the whole time, as we never get any proof that he wasn't, whereas killing dumbledore seems like excellent proof that he was on voldemort's side the whole time. then again, if he was on dumbledore's side, he would have told him of the of the unbreakable curse he'd made, and, as littleru said, dumbledore may have thought a spy among the deatheaters was more valuable to the order than he was himself. the injury to his hand could have been bleeding his strength, or he could have sensed he was going to die of old age soon anyway. i don't think dumbledore will come back in the next book, that would be far too predictable. anyway. can't wait for number 7. hope it's long
sirius is dead and i agree that dumbledore begged snape to kill him because of the unbreakable vow and how important snape was to the order cuz snape always said that he trusted snape when nobody else did and i think that the only way he coudl have trusted him that much is because of the unbreakable vow
"After all, to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure." - Albus Dumbledore given dumbledores view on death i think that it was organised and though he is dead snape is on the orders side HOWEVER what point is snape on the orders side if they dont know he is as none of the teachers give any signs of knowing it was going to happen
