is the point of gatorade? it doesn't taste very good it has 180calories and 42g of suger it doesn't give me energy...like red bull, mmm.... it isn't a significant source of saturated/trans fat, cholesterol, fiber, vit a, vit c, calicum, iron so whats the point?
it totally doesn't make you less thirsty, i'm still thirsty and it taste bad, drinks should taste good i'm only drinking it because theres nothing else, other than tape water, i should have gone with that
Exactly. Gatorade is just a vehicle that delivers revenue to the Pepsi company. They do this successfully by convincing people that the product is a superior thirst quencher to water. It isn't. Virtually everything in the food industry is engineered to be marketed- with only as much attention to nutrition as the law compels. Even produce is colored and waxed up to look pretty so people will buy it. Flavorings and dyes in consumables are not good for you. Salt contributes to high blood pressure and most refined sugars should be considered low-grade poisons... but those along with preservatives, which are put into foods in order that they may survive long enough to be SOLD, are what we routinely put into our bodies- compliments of the food industry, which is only interested in your MONEY. Gatorade is as poisonous as soda.
it has carbs and electrolytes to help you finish a hard workout...atleast that's supposed to be the purpose sometimes i do half gatorade/half water and it works well.
Gatorade does provide vital ingredients that allow your body to rehydrate quickly from activities that dehydrate you rapidly. Water althouhg great will not rehydrate quickly and infact in severe cases of dehydration can create a bigger problem for the person. Although Gatorade is overly used, most who use it would not require the hydration rate it supplies and actually too much can create health issues. The body has requirements, when left unbalanced problems happen. The altrnative to Gatorade would be a very nasty drink of: There are other options like Pedialyte and something called Kaolectrolyte but niether taste great either. Perhaps the best would be limited activity specially during weather that would accellerate the problem.
BTW like it matters but I do keep some packets on the truck, not so much for me as my activity level would never likely warrant the need, lol but in the summer in desert areas people traveling, left out to the weather can use it to jump start thier systems then follow up with lots of bottled water.
if it has all that stuff in it, why is none of that on the label? and stinkfoot, i agree.. anyway, i'm no athlete so to me, its crappy but if you like it then cool
It's for those pc 'healthy' Folk that won't eat salt tablets. Don't drink / eat either down here n spend the next 4wks trying to walk w/o pain. Don't ask...
