guitar mind fuck

I tried to tell you that I thought it was good guitarwork, but annoying to ME. Don't you listen?

 

First off, I made no mention of Hendrix in my post, just because my screenname is about him doesn't mean I think that he's the ultimate guitarist to whom everyone should be compared to.

Secondly, no, it's not that impressive to me, and just because I can't play something doesn't mean that it is automatically the greatest thing in the world. If I wanted to hear a bunch of repeated septatonic and heptatonic scales in my solos I'd go listen to Van Halen or some other shitty 80s band.

Third, since you did decide to bring up Hendrix, I'll just go ahead and say that Becker can't hold a fucking candle to Hendrix in any aspect of guitar playing.

Now, that comment was quite uncalled for. Jason Becker is no longer able to play because of an illness(Lou Gehrig's Disease - aka: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). To make a comment as though to celebrate such a tragic event is highly inappropriate.

Say for one minute that you are a very talented guitar player. You then get ALS and are no longer able to so much as move your body, much less play the guitar. Now, imagine I come up to you and tell you I'm glad you can't play anymore. How the hell would you feel??

First off, this guy is insane. I also find the music extremely boring.

Second, how inept can somebody be to compare hendrix to this guy, they're years apart. Find someone who was playing in 1967 who could do what hendrix was doing. I'm not aware of anyone but I don't know everything, so maybe somebody can introduce me to a guitarist from the era who was better than hendrix.

 

Music like this bullshit makes me regret that I ever started playing guitar.

I have a lap stee lremember? and two acoustics and one classical. I never play electric that much, never have really

 

I mjust have forgotten you had a lap steel, what kind of slide do you use? I have this sweet one with a wooden top and stainless steel bottom

 

I have 3 of them old school thick metal bars with the grip stuff. dont remember what they are called, got them off ebay for 5 bucks each, one was from the 50's from hawaii. other 2 are bluegrass style.

yea, they are pretty good, got them for cheap too, in my opinion.

 

Becker is a god. He has so much control of that guitar. Some people jsut cant grasp taht i guesse.
