As I understand, their style changed from the first to the second album. I haven't even heard their first album. And, even the greatest composers of all time didn't start out as musical geniuses. Mozart... Beethoven... they had to accumulate skill, because, trust me, they weren't always amazing. They're better musicians than the guys that make up N.E.R.D., and even they didn't make incredible stuff until they'd been making music for a long time.
