when i came home from school today i found a bird drowning in my pool. my brother helped me get it out, and we wrapped it in a towel to keep warm (it lost many of its feathers). I usually let nature take its course, however I think it may have a chance of suvival, as long as I don't let anyone eat it. Does anyone have any tips on how to nurse it back to health? By the way, I'm not exactly sure what kind of bird it is. It's bigger than a normal bird, but smaller than a crow, and is black
that's so sad!! i suggest taking to to a vet or something and seeing what they can do. i'll browse online to see if i can find any sites to help.
Your local humane society or park authority should have names and telephone numbers of wildlife rehabilitators. Keep the numbers in your home and car in case of an emergency. that's the best thing i've found so far. maybe you can call up your humane society and ask for the numbers.
ok, sounds like you found a black bird. I have nursed many animals, so what u need to do is try to give it water using an eye dropper before u try to feed it. it needs to get hydrated before food or it can get sick from it. if it won't take the water just keep trying, that's all u can do for now. make it a bed in a shoe box, nice and soft. if it takes the water ( a good amount) then try to leave it by itsself with some bird seed. if it wont eat that then try smashing up worms and feeding it those with an eyedropper. if it dies give it a propper burial. good luck any more questions pm me.
good shit man i was worrying aboutn the little dude. Hey this is the begining of your journey to saving critters, such fuffilment out of life when u seek to heol the less fortunate.
