That is the title of an ''article'' in the school newspaper. It was threw up by a sec. 2 girl who bassicaly classifies teenagers into quote "3 categories. The preps who listen to rap, the skaters who listen to listen to metal and punk, and the nerds who would rather study." I tried to imagine what happened to that little girl's mind. When I read that, I can hardly tell if she has a mind and ideas of her own... But that's not the worst thing. The worst thing is she's not alone. I can tell I suffered from those guys who had style and who picked on those who hadn't. I hadn't. I still don't have any (unless you consider hippie a style... I think it's more a way of thinking than a style, I don't even dress hippie). The thing is that is my generation. MY GENERATION. I really wonder what the adults will look like in 15 years, when the preps and the skaters will be in age to govern the world. The end is near, I can feel it each time I see things like the "preps, skaters and nerds" shit. And that is ALL because of the MEDIA and the EMPTY MINDS ready to be filled with whatever's popular at the time. I live in the "taken care of" generation. Well, if the world explodes, I'll be hiding in a tree. Peace
who cares? when you reach your twenties, nothing about that matters anymore, you have bigger things to deal with.
as long as guys like you are around, aware of what's going on and refusing to have their head made my media, there's hope that the world won't explode...
well... the ppl who were once in the hippie age are the ones who govern today's world... and look at how fuckin chaotic it is... people adapt to society after a while... life is weird man
wiggers, preps, goths, rockers, skaters, stoners, and nerds and all the other cliques that exist in highschool remain SOLELY in school.... Granted there are groups and social snobbery when ur an adult but they're not as trendy as when you're a teen. You get over that quite quickly.
I know we can always refuse, but I'm just worried about the number of people who are brainwashed. I don't know ANY teenager who understands me, except for the hipforums. It's just hard to find them... in the real life.
thats true, but i felt the change happening mostly in sec.5 before college, before that its completely an image fest.
Not true at all - widespread circumstances can alter entire generations. The First World War (Lost Generation), the Depression, etc.
yea man like everybody else said, people get classified like that in middle and high school, thats about it, once ur in the real world that kid crap goes away and for the most part even the more popular kids that used to make fun of the nerds usually realize they were assholes and dont care when there older. (funny thing, when i was in 8th grade, i dumped some cookie crumbs in this kid joes hair cause i was part of the "cool kids" and he wasnt, then a few years later we were great friends and started a band together and have been great friends since) people grow up man, dont worry so much about it. And green day has been my favorite band since i was 11 but i'm not a skater.
