this video explains it all - although the actual topic was global warming, this is all about the whole 1984 theory, the wider issue that a government cannot try and mislead the public and brainwash them to suit their ideals.

 

Are you talking about the GENERAL WILL? Thats Roussaeu. Interesting guy, and I like that idea. I agree that the rule of law can't exist without a legitimate government which must reflect the general will and have due process.

 

I too watched the Panorama programme - you can still see it on the BBC website on the Panorama page.

Panorama is one of the most well-respected news programmes anywhere. But I suspect that too many people are too concerned with their own little lives to bother about Bush and his con-job on the people of the planet!

 

Also the channel 4 programs "Dispatches" and various anti-bush/anti-war programs channel 4 runs are great TV, and thats saying a lot from me - i hardly ever watch the box
