Yeah so pretty sure I have these, and I'm going to the doctor for it, hoping it's not fucking cancer or something nasty.

What the hell? I keep getting weird sinus problems. Has anyone ever had these? [growths in your nose, or in one nostril] I'm getting so flippin' irritated with this chronic sinus battle I'm in.

Someone tell me you know how it feels, please. :&

yes!! i do know, i've had four infections this year..and i'm scared i'm getting a fifth right now..it's so fking tiring, never being able to breathe. i've been using all different kinds of nose sprays, and i've been living off them..but it's not really a soution.
i dnt know what nasal polysps are though..
    good luck at teh doctor..

I had when i was younger and it came out naturally when i was coughing (i didn't even know i had it). Then a few years later i strated to feel that i couldn't breath through one of the sides of my nose... i couldn't even sleep right. After some time i got fed up of that situation and had surgery (they reach it through your mouth, so no cutting bone or scars). I can breath a lot better, but i still have nasal problems (and maybe because i took so much time to decide to have surgery, the side where i had the polyps is now larger...).
Don't worry, un less it is a special case IT ISN'T CANCER. I was a bit scared when i received the anatomic pathology exam results after the surgery (i am pessimistic like that), but the doctour said i was silly, he assured me it could never be such thing. Maybe you won't even need surgery, maybe there are other possible treatments.
Go to a good doctour, he will examine you and assure you it isn't anything to worry so much, at least not like cancer. :)

got back from the dr. I have to go see a Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist tomorrow.

I'm not too worried if I have to have them removed, at least I'll feel better later.

But good thing that it's probably not cancer hehe :-D

Interesting that you ask that, because i remember that when i started having them the last time i was going frequently to places where most people smoked...even though i didn't... it may be realted to that, but i'm not sure (when you stay too long in a place where everybody is smoking and then blow your nose it probably is all black (yack!!)... so smoking can help help...).
I hope somebody else knows anything about it, because i'm not sure if it was just coincidence with me. The doctor never asked if i smoked or not, but it crossed my mind that it couyld be related to it...

Try using salted water to clean your nose everyday, that was my doctor's advice. They are sold in pharmacies, but you can do it at home, bringing some water and salt to boil and then keep it in a bottle. then when you have to use it a syringe (the plastic tube only) to eject it inside your nose. It may sound more complicated, but it is a lot cheaper.

But your doctour probably knows better. Either way, i hope my advices were usefull.

eheh... sorry, never heard about that. when you said nostrils i was in doubt, because i don't think polyps grown on nostrils... maybe warts are even easier to solve.
    good luck!

well easy I suppose, but painful.

Either I have to be put under to have them surgically removed or I have to just be awake for them to be frozen off. I will go with freezing them off, because something about being put under makes me shiver.

It's going to hurt like hell, but I can take it like a woman. haha

4 or 5 sinus infections a year ain't ok -- something anatomically is wrong, like a deviated septum or polyps (not tumors -- growths that block the drainage from the sinuses which get plugged with mucous and bacteria grow).

Sinus infections can be dangerous in young kids and teenagers because the bones are not fully developed yet and you can get bacteria spreading around your eyes and back into your brain -- I don't mean to scare anybody, but if you have a wicked headache, fever, and gunk coming out of your nose or that you are coughing up, SEE A DOCTOR.

And watch out for those decongestant nasal sprays. After about 3 days your body gets hooked on them and you get "rebound" nasal congestion. Better to use Sudafed or prescription decongestants and steroid nasal sprays.

    TTFN, scubadoc

    Thanks,
like I said he diagnosed them as warts. *shrugs*
Maybe the warts blocking my passageways are CAUSING such sinus problems???

I'm currently prescribed Flonase nose spray, and it seems to work well.
I'm also on Clarinex for my allergies which helps too.

I am really thinking about just trying allergy shots though, because my allergies can violent and no pill in the world seems to help. I've already had to go to the ER once for an allergy attack....

Don't worry I'm good about going to the dr. when I need to. More than good, actually...
