i still have a question regarding starting plants late and flowering. if a plant is started late, in june or so, when it comes time to flower, it will still bud not just as big, right? b/c i heard from somewhere that u will have a bunch of leaves and no buds if u start to late, is this true? can starting in june stil produce a satisfactory yeild? if u start in like july, when time comes to flower, u will have a small plant but it will still flower, correcT? thanks alot i just want to make sure that the beans i jus bought arent going to be wasted because there isnt enough time for them to flower...?

Flowering--growing lots of buds (or pollen sacs) requires lots of energy, which the plant builds up during veg.
Flowering is usually triggered in Aug. sometime. If the plant is still young and hasn't built up much energy, it won't produce as much bud and it it's planted in let's say late July, it may try to flower but not accomplish much, especially since the days have been getting shorter since it was sprouted.

You can put a plant to bud as young as two weeks, some of the best pot you have smoked is no more than 70 days old from bean to bud.
genetics has alot to with bud size, Thats why so many adds use it for a selling point, If you look though most of those say there ready in 75 days or more.
of course outside plants will always have bigger buds, thats because they the light is gradulely reduced giving the plant more time to put on bulk before its system tells it the time to mature is getting short.
Look up sea of green on various sites and you will get a better idea of how and why plants bud.
Your seeds will not be wasted, and depending on your latatude they will be of respectable size before they fully mature.
p.s. there is a spray that does seem to help buds grow, for that you can go to one of the babelonian sites like hightimes or its nodeplune canibisculture
    outgrow your goverment

Just thought i should include some usefull advice
if you start your plants indoors now, leave them in the sun all day and put them under*lights at night. or if thats not posible, plant them in direct sunlight now, and then Plant/move them where they will be in heavy shade for half the day and they will be ready far sooner. and they will almost surly be over 4 feet tall
    * even the extra few hundred watts per plant of flourencece or regular light bulbs will make a huge difference
