wild salvia?

    i've been looking out in the woods by my house for the salvia div., and was wondring how that you could tell if the plant i think is salvia is actually salvia?, i noticed from the pics online that the leave have 5 little sections on one side and 4 on the other but is there any other way to tell besides drying it and smoking it?

    Unlike other sages, Salvia divinorum produces very few seeds, and the seeds it does produce seldom germinate. It is propagated by cuttings, so you won't find it in the woods, or K-Mart / Wal-Mart etc. For more info:

    Ha! I thought that said saliva. So I thought you were talking about that salival stuff on some plants in fields. It's beetles that do that, isn't it? Does it have a name?

    Salvia Div. only grows naturally in mountainous Sierra Madre Oriental in the northeastern corner of the Mexican State of Oaxaca. So if you don't live in that area you not going to find any growing wild.
