So many people hate Van Halen and I can't understand why. They weren't the greatest band but had some good tunes.

I've seen them live once during the Sammy Hagar period. Great performance by ALL of the members. Van Halen is truly one of rock's most influencial bands out there.

I liked them better with David Lee Roth..I know he's arrogant as hell, but that was part of their charm. The music just had more of an edge with him. They're all classic tunes, David or Sammy either one.

Oh yeah, David Lee Roth is great even though he DOES have a bit of a questionable reputation. I even like his solo album "Eat 'Em And Smile" featuring the top-notch line-up like Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan, and Greg Bissonette.

But, getting back to Van Halen, I just like Van Halen regardless of who fronts the band. I even thought "Van Halen III" was pretty nice. Although, that might be because I'm also a fan of Extreme, who knows...

I'm Van Halen fan. My favurite albums are FIRST, 1984 and Fair Warning. Eruption was so revolutioner in guitar music and techniques. Eddie VH spreaded tapping technique on over the world. Just great. Do you remember back to the future movie? Marty was put some van halen's record to walkman in 50s to george mcfly. It was great and humoristic scene, hehe. If I was tennager in late 70s and 80s I will be van halen's fan and play on guitar like eddie.

'Eruption' is insane. Eddie Van Halen is one of the best guitarists ever. I like stuff like 'Poundcake', 'Panama', 'Love Walks In', 'Hot For Teacher', 'Jump', 'Dreams' etc. David Lee Roth's just rejoined them, too.

yeah ok van halen not good . must be deaf. they were great only with david lee roth sammy sucked in van halen. so i guess eddie van halen is not a guitar god?? for the time they were out they were great. if youv'e seen them live you would appreciate THEM. hardly any bands from today even sing back up vocals, mike anthony was great on bass and vocals... anyway
