surely youve heard of them. maybe not. either way you should definately check them out. http://www.boardsofcanada.com/

all of the albums are magnificent. ive never heard anything like them. its hard for me to put them in one category. they use synthesizers among other instruments. im such a huge fan. if you like ambient chillish music with some good beats, youd like.

    hells yeah.

I have Twoism, Geogaddi, Music has the Right to Children, and Campfire Headphase.
If you like that kinda stuff, you'd probably like Malcom Kipe/Nautilis, Casino vs. Japan, push button objects, and Lusine.

check this track out (Evol Vibes) http://www.myspace.com/omnibusdrums
it's a side project with Malcom Kipe and Uneso

Why is BoC here anyway? They're about as ambient as you can get without going all Eno. :p

i dont know...alot of their songs seem to have good beats goin on, that ring more of an electroinc sound to my ear. but then again...alot of ambient music is electronic, and visa versa. all i know, is that its good music :D

I enjoy them, but I would classify them more as IDM rather than ambient.

I used to like them, but all their stuff sounds the same after a while. That grainy lo-fi sound is good when used in moderation, but when every song sounds that way it just gets old very fast. Their debut album is excellent, though, and ranks as one of my favorite of the genre.

after getting geogaddi, i started to realize that...alot of the songs start out the same, and kind of have the same structure. i still like it quite a bit, but i should really stop listening to it so much, or else im gonna burn out on em reaaalllly fast :p

I love boards of canada. Music Has the Right To Children is one of my favouirte albums of all time. They have such a unique approach to music and it creates such a mood unlike most others. The nostalgia that I get from some of the pieces of music are too intense. Gotta love em.
