Well mainly mum, mum had done it alot when she was younger but I was still nervous to admit it because she told me I had schizophrenia in the dads side of the family and that she didn't really want me to try it. But i told her and she was fine about it, no doing it before school or on school nights (I can do this, i use it responsibly n not regularly) but on weekends is fine and I'm allowed to come home stoned with my friends and 'chill out' (she used those words, lol) and watch movies n stuff. Anyway just wanted to share the good news Catchya
If you are schitzoaffective i wouldn't smoke weed. Have you been diagnosed? Schizophrenia is not entirely genetic, but there is a strong genetic link so you are kind of at risk (but not guaranteed).
i'm kind of the same - my uncle is schizophrenic, and apparently (it says in my psych text) i have a 2% chance of becoming schizo. this seems pretty low to me, since schizophrenia affects 1/100 people anyways. i dunno, though, anyone have other stats? i smoke plenty, and ive heard anyways that schizophrenics usually hate doing pot (paranoia? i could be wrong here)... and i love it! hahaha
That's great news! I wish my parents were as accepting... now that they know I smoke pot, they blame everything I forget to do on my "short-term memory loss due to my lifestyle." Ugh! But hey, enjoy your freedom for those of us who don't have it! ~Nova
my parents don't seem to care. couple days ago my dad asked if i was smoking spliffs all night. i was so shocked to hear that from him!
No I haven't been diagnosed, I've got a uncle who has schitzophrenia so I think I have a higher risk of getting it. But I'm 15 and this is the first time I've smoked, my uncle who has schitzo was given Valium from age 5 because they thought he was insane... maybe that helped him with the schitzophrenia I've got no clue.
I'm always saying to my mom, "Wow, you know how many bongs I could buy with all this money?" hahah. She's pretty cool with it, but my dad would be pissed if I confronted him directly.
