A baby Quilt and Poem for a friend...

The Lotus flower is The flower for July in Chinese Myth, and my friends new baby girl is due mid July so I put together this quilt for her. She still hasnt decided on a name and I REALLY think she should name her Lotus or Lily Anyway, I also wrote a poem to go with the quilt and here they be:








Lotus Child:
In many nights passing, the sun emerges still.

With the hopes of a new day in our hearts to fulfill~

Flowers emerge and give us their scent

While another nights dream prepares to descend

Little and large, great and tiny,

The blessings of life so bright and shiney

Bring us this day of our immaculate succession

Of the mother and child,

Water and Lotus,

Canvas and Impression.

that's amazing. the poem is spendid and the quilt is just beautiful. that's the sweetest thing.

 

Thanks, It took me about 3 days to make, between dying the fabric, the applique, and putting it all together. My friend really liked it alot, it made me happy to see her smile. I can't wait to see the baby in it !

so what did she think about your name suggestions? i know a little one named asa lotus & he too was a summer baby!

 

She likes it but is still debating with her man as to names, they like flower names and are trying to decide between Rose and Jasmine but Lily or Lotus is so pretty too, ahh only time will tell!!
I'll post when she does!
