I met the crew I'm starting with tomorrow

Its hilarious. One balding, long-haired, grey beard-packin', Amsterdam shirt and Birkenstock-wearing hippie.
Two real rednecks...
One redneck in training I knew from Highschool, Billy.
And a black guy with a giant afro.
Plus a bunch of generic guys.

We had six hours of meetings today. It sucked, other than getting to watch an hour movie about bear attacks.

 

my friend calls birkenstocks "lesbian shoes".

training videos are the worst.

 

it was the only video. we had to listen to this guy from calgary talk about safety policy, and this ecotourist guide talk about bears. it wasn't so bad.

 

Sounds like quite the crew...I think you are in for an interesting employment. Have fun and be safe...sounds like you guys have a bear problem out there.

Well, actually, we're surveying for a huge oil pipeline going in from Edmonton to Kitimat

 

awesome, a few days ago i watched some Science Channel documentary on Canadian pipelines. I'd rather be a firefighter, though. :sunglasse

 

yeah. i needed a job though, i quit my last one because my boss was being all jewish.
