Hot damn. I just got back from Anime North last weekend and was it ever a blast. I totally geeked it up for the whole weekend. Yay for cute cosplayers!
The best animes I've seen are Trigun, Gundam Wing, Cowboy Bebob, and Outlaw Star. Some movies you should watch are Akira (the best anime ever), Memories, and Waking Life which, although it isn't anime, features a really weird style of animation that is worth checking out.
Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend - that is some good stuff. I take it that no one else watches hentai. El Hazard was good, Fooly Cooly, Excel saga, what about Robotech.
