I was drving my kids to see their grandparents a couple of weeks ago. Their grandparents live between Atlanta and Asheville NC, in an area that's very wooded. Where we live in Texas there aren't anywhere near as many trees and this fact obviously got my 4 year old daughter thinking. She started off by asking me if trees were alive. After we'd explained to her the 7 things that told us they were alive, she wisely informed us that trees can't think because if they did they'd get bored living round all these other trees and want to go on holiday. Silly I know, but it made us laugh.
Well we thought it was funny. We made up this whole story about the trees not needing to pack their bags (what would they bring, a spare pair of leaves? as my daughter pointed out) and trying to hitch hike along the interstate (because of course they haven't taken their driving test -we'd see their cars if they had), which kept us amused for a while. We decided that they couldn't get very far because no-one would have a car big enough to sit in anyway.
That's adorable! The other day, my friend asked my 3yo where she was going. She said "I don't know...crazy?"
