Its been awhile since I have written anything...be gentle ;)

    Colours of the mid-day sun
    Golden sunbaked afternoon
    Sweet grass brushes naked feet
The trees reach out for the daytime moon

    The poet sits dreaming
    Of honor, love, and peace
Wondering can he change the world
Can one heart make hatred cease?

    Sleeping eyes are opened
    By twilight's sweet embrace
    The poet realizes his dream
Must be encoutered face to face

    Mother moon kissed Father sun
    At the break of day
    Then the poet firmly decided
To give all he owned away

    All his friends, they jeered
His sister laughed and made fun
    The poet, he just smiled
He knew they'd never understand what he'd done

    On the streets of Boston
    And in the Public Gardens
The poet sang his songs for all
Even those who's hearts were hardened

He sang of peace, honor, love, and truth
Then a man came up to him
ANd told him all talk and no work
    Clearly was a sin

The willos rustled in the wind
As they spoke under the bridge
He assured the man world work was a good path
    But just clearly not his

    "There is just one thing
That holds, regardless of what you do
'Seek ye first the Kingdom of God...
And all these things shall be added unto you' "

    Off the poet skipped
    Totally blissful and free
Sharing with many the dream he had
    Under earth's heaven-touched trees

    Mother moon smiled down
As he sang his songs for all
Riminding us to live with Divine Light in our hearts
    To finally answer peace's call

Glad to see you're writing again, I've missed your inspired verses! I loved the imagery, but to be honest the rhythm was a little off. Nevertheless, it was still a beautiful piece keep up the good work.
    Peace,
    Robert

    wow... stunning poetry.
the imagery used is excellent, and so is the general use of charects and personification.

    great stuff!
