    I don't.

But if the U.S. never fought the Nazis in WW2 they would have most likely taken control of the continent, and stayed in control well into the 1950's at least. I never said anything more, or less.

Instead of attacking my intelligence or lackthereof, you could have instead simply stated why you think Europe would have defeated the Nazis without U.S. help.

I'm disappointed in you, lick. When did you start attacking people rather than attacking what they say?

I'm sure Bush knows next to nothing concering either of the World Wars. And I'm sure you won't disagree with that! ;)

Who gives a fuck? Times have changed.

And anyway - if you were so noble and fucking holy, where were you in 1939 when Jews were being slaughtered and the Nazi's were ripping through France? Oh, I suppose your poor precious Pearl fucking Harbour... one military base? Great allies you are... 1939 is when the war should have started, maybe there wouldn't be so many graves if you had helped and done what was right.

    Boothy, one note of correction...

The Holocaust did not begin until well into the war, not in 1939. Plans for the active and systematic extermination of Jews throughout occupied Europe were drafted at the Wannsee Conference in 1942 (3 years after Hitler's war machine had already sprung into action with the invasions of Czechoslovakia and Poland.

When making comparisons between today's display of incremental institutionalised fasicst totalitarianism and that which gripped Germany of the 1930's and 40's, it is best not to fall prey to the typical conflation of all aspects of the Nazi rise to and consolifation of power with the much later evils of the Holocaust. There was much of a more cultural-reengineering nature that occurred (every bit in line with what we see recurring in the smug, mentally complacent, dumbed down, self-absorbed and largely propagandised US society) in the years prior to the Holocaust itself.

This is what needs to be emphasised when drawing the rightful comparisons between both present and past regimes, not the Holocaust itself (which is but a natural result of absolute power concentration into the hands of any who display no viable concern for the well-being of the nation they are sworn to serve).

According to most, the Holocaust was the suffering of the Jewish people inflicted by the Nazi regime. If you accept this as the premise, then the time period would be 1933 through 1945. In that time period there were eviction orders, Jewish houses and shops were blown up etc.

However if you mean when the started killing Jews openly in concentration camps, that would be around 1941. It all depends on the definition.

The point still stands, that the UK entered the war because Germany would not withdraw it's troops from Poland. We had not then ben attacked. That was 1939... millions of deaths and 3 years later, the US gets one airbase attacked. And it annoys be greatly the way the US are seen as the "heroes". Can it not be said, that they should have been there in 1939, and helped stopped more deaths?

Also, lets not forget the ridiculous and perhaps one of the most immoral things to happen in any way, the Japan atomic bombs. The US were winning the war there anyway, and there was simply no call for it, not on civilians. And what makes it worse is that many have the theory, and evidence, that the bombings were simply testing how powerful the new technology was.

Is that really a reason to kill 210,000 cicilains, and the after-effects of radiation and such, which in some people still can be seen today?

I'm curious as to what the American people generally think about these bombings in particular, and whether in their opinion they were justified.

Mostly what i try to do is disiminate information, just like most of us who post here. The best thing anyone can do is change minds, educate.

ok lets not forget that ALL governments are corrupt, but not all are good at hiding it. Another thing that pisses me off is that how people from other countries judge every American based on our government. Excuse me, but my government does not signify who I am. People who have these types of views are just as bad as the government that he/she is refering to. Get over yourselves and actually look outside of the box. There are actually really good people in the USA. You just have to clear your mind and look for them.

i think we need to put the whole thing into perspective. i feel that the original post was a knee jerk reaction. i also feel that we should ask this person the reason that he came to these conclusions. the americans living in the usa are in an unenviable position, the republic is dead and just like rome, america is enetering an age of powerful men (i think hg wells the writer may have spoke about this is his world history books but i'm too lazy to confirm this). voting is slowly being outlawed by some states who lock up potential voters or ban them from the electoral roll because they may have a criminal record. as with rome the population is gradually coming used to being ruled by people who are not legally entitled to be ruler. like rome, america launches wars on foreign peoples they bring their rulers to the sword or back to rome (america) in chains and force the foreign population to pay tribute to america. rome you have to remember engaged in the first punic war for 20/30 years (can't remember) it was this war to my mind that weakened the roman republic (for it was a republic then). i could go on but i won't

i think it was benjamin franklin who said - heres your republic if you can keep it

america will continue down the usual road of history expansion - war etc and then collapse. why? because human nature has not changed in any real way since records have been written. how to prevent it? education and voting rights, it is an inverse relation between these things and freedom and stability.

Oh, i guess i was on then ice anyway, my show being what it was, always putting my liberal proagada between the lines.

anyway, it went down like this: there was this Youth for Christ meeting down the hall(what better place than a public school, right?) so i made this poster that said Youth for Buddda Meeting in Radio Room with a picture of this big phycadelic budda and stuck it on the door. I didnt take long for a christ following youth to grab it and bring it to the attention of the instructor.

Didnt even get to finish the broadcast. You know its bad when your teacher calls you an asshole.

yeah, not even an over-the-air statement sorry to disapoint

not like i said Atheists for Christ or something...

bah common. thats a lousy point of view... history is as it is, if it wasnt for colombus, or Cartier, or the Africans who walked around the world, we wouldnt have America. The past comes to us on a golden plate. and if it werent for the British, U.S wouldnt exist either if ye got well back in time.
