my husband has some great seasonings for beer bread, although I forget the combination but he does use some rosemary and lemon thyme, it's very tasty.

yeah beer bread is fantastic. We add a little sugar, baking poweder and salt to ours though.

it's also great as rolls, with mashed pumpkin stirred in, with sunflower seeds and cheese on top, with poppy seeds, it's tasty good :)

Beer Bread is awesome for when after you've just hosted a party and people leave all your least favorite beers behind.

I enjoy adding garlic and dill to my beer bread.

My simple recipe. I use the sponge method.
The sponge: In the smaller bowl have 1 can of beer, 1Tbls oil, 1Tbls corn syrup and warm in microwave. In the larger bowl 1-1/2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1-1/2 tsp yeast, mix together. Take the bowl of warm beer and give it a stir to make sure everything is mixed and add it to the dry ingredients. Mix well and let rest for about 15 minutes. At this time it should be full of air bubbles (the sponge) and then you add the rest of the flour and do all the steps you ordinarially would. I find I get a better texture this way.
