Who knows that song, and what do you think about it?

It's the only song I've heard so far by Gary Jules, and I have to say that I love it so much! It's just such a beautiful song, I like the lyrics, even though they're pretty sad, but very often, the most touching songs are sad... Musically it's very simple, but simply beautiful. And I like Gary Jules' voice, it's very soft...

    Mad World

All around me are familiar faces
    Worn out places
    Worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
    Going no where
    Going no where
Their tears are filling up their glasses
    No expression
    No expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
    No tomorrow
    No tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles its a very very
    Mad world
    Mad world
Children waiting for the day they feel good
    Happy birthday
    Happy birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
    Sit and listen
    Sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
    No one knew me
    No one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what’s my lesson
    Look right through me
    Look right through me
And I find I kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles its a very very
    Mad world
    Mad world
    Enlarging your world
    Mad world

I like that song, it was very powerful in Donnie Darko. Might even listen to it now, just to get bittersweet, y'know?

Oh, I didn't know it was a cover... I didn't know it was in Donnie Darko either, cause I never saw that movie, actually.

I like the cover better. I'm not one for 80's keyboard effects really.

I really love this song. I like the Gary Jules version much better than Tears for Fears (bleah - 80s.. haha). The song fits perfectly into Donnie Darko, which is also a fantastic film.

Mad world is a beautiful song, but sad!

Tears For Fears fucking kicked ass.

But I do like Gary Jules's version as well. Even if it was in that God-awful movie Donnie Darko.

The song is really beautiful. I like the cover version better though, I'm not a big fan of Tears for Fears. ;)
