sadly i've never been to amsterdam, but that description was how i hoped and prayed amserdam would be like.

Well, its good to dream all reef, but still if you enjoy smoking, no one will deny that its the best place on earth to be for that.

but jsut like most poeple dont drink on teh street, im sure its similar with weed.
anyway it is true, dispite what these anti-amsterdamians say, and its clear none of them have really been to amsterdam, for they actually do have nug-throws at 1 o clock each day. everyone gets out their nugs and throws them at eachother.

 

If you look closely at the pciture posted earlier you can see very clearly that the europeans love their bud.

Anyway, the good thing about being in England is that we're less than an hours flight away from Amsterdam. This means i have been able to go 3 or 4 times a year for the last 5 or 6 years.

As such I am able to confirm that a'dam is the greatest place on Gods earth! Whatever you are into, the dam has it. OK its expensive since the euro, especially so for you american guys & gals, but hey its a holiday and its one of those places where you obviously HAVE to go at some point.

The chances of u ever getting busted for weed in A'dam is none!
You'd have to really piss the police offf over there to get their attention, last time I was over there in July Holland had just beaten Sweden in Euro 2004 and the streets were packed with crazy celebrations going on all over the city with most of the police joining in the celebrations. There is something about the general atmosphere of A'dam which is hard to describe but everyone is generally more content with life over there and there is a feeling of safety.

I certainly wouldn't walk round any other city at night completely care free like I do in the Dam, all you'll find is that you will get pecked by street dealers selling coke etc. as you walk past but even they're polite!! They just mutter at you as you walk by and when you say 'no thanks' they leave you alone cos theres enough people who want it so they aint gotta hassle you.

Amsterdam would be fun but now that I've lived in Vansterdam (Vancouver, BC) it doesn't have the same allure to me as it used to. I like the Da Kline and The New Amsterdam Cafe. I hang out there quite a bit. The atmosphere is great. I love this city.

 

i just got back from two weeks in europe about 6 days of which was spent in amsterdam. its nice to just sit outside of a coffeeshop and roll a joint plus the bud is fucking fantastic. didn't get to smoke that much unfortunately because i was bowling in a tournament there and had to be at peak performance.

 

lol!...I just had to laugh as a fleeting mental image occured where by you were very stonned and bowling very very badly and finding it all quite hillarious!....

but really....did you win the bowling?...I mean there had to be some recompense for not being able to toke?

jobs i think is really hard to get!! 1g is between 2,5euro and 25euro. and you must be 18 and you are not allowed to smoke in the streets just at home and in the bar

 

i'm from germany and i was so often in netherland and a few times in amsterdam. amsterdam is hell i can not stay there for a long time because you get crazy of all those people. the hole city is full of drug tourism. so many coffeeshops and so many drugs. you can smoke good stuff in every shop. and when you go through the porno bitches district they offer you on the street everything ex lsd the famous white stuff. and the bitches in there liddle rooms are crazy. but the other towns in netherland are calm and better.

Hmm, what an interesting concept. Trade money for juicy nugs and have nuggets as your currency. The only problem is that people would be smoking their perfectly good "new" money.

 

Smoking pot in the street. Interesting because it is ilegal to smoke pot in the streets in Amsterdam. Smoking is not legal it's tolorated and it is only alowed to be smoked in certain shops.

There are already a lot of threads about living in Amsterdam, legal age of smoking, drinking etc etc.. I live in Nijmegen (other side of the country, 1,5 hour by train from Amsterdam) but I'm in Amsterdam a lot because of my friends and the foundation I work for (giving free computerlessons to former homeless youngsters and refugees). So if you have any specific questions I might be able to answer some.. I don't smoke weed myself (medical reasons) so I'm not an expert on what stuff is good and the costs etc.. but when it comes to the city itself or life in Holland in general, I might be able to give ya some information.. just ask!
