Well, if that was your opinion on what was good in 2005, it shouldn't be too hard to find good music this year...

Seems like you enjoy pop/rap. Check out gnarles barkley; just came out a couple weeks ago.

I agree what has come out this year has pretty much been garbage, up until May 2 that is......TooL broke the long streak of crappy bands putting out crappy music

Well to be honest your not going to find a great deal of good music in the charts or even on the music channels. The really good stuff you need to look for yourself from the internet or suggestions from other people. Although based on your list of "good" music from last year, your standards don't seem very high. Not to be rude but there is far better stuff out there then those listed.

You're definitely right. There's so many great, undiscovered bands/singers out there, but you need to look. I find most of them from the internet, indie magazines (Sky Scraper is great,) and word of mouth.

And I'm sorry, but 2005 was an INCREDIBLE year for music. I must have bought over 50 cds just from that year alone. I just don't think you know enough about music to be honest

Every once in a while MTV 2 plays some good stuff (In the middle of the night.)

But not to sound like a snob, you really should try to research your music out there, there's really some incredible stuff out there that you just won't find from country music channels or Q102 (The teeny popper station in PA.)

There is plenty of great music you lust need to look hard enough. I suggest Man Man- Six Demon Bag, Danielson-Ships, and Islands-Return To Sea

Wow, you know who Below The Sea is? I've been looking for that cd for months. I can't seem to track it down.

I agree that Islands and Danileson were definitely among the best this year

The album in my sig is, in my opinion, the best album that's so far been released this year.

I haven't really been obsessed with finding new music as I was last year, but there have been quite a few great albums I've found...

Camera Obscura ~ Let's Get Out of This Country. allmusic.com called this "possibly the greatest indie album ever recorded."
Jon Auer ~ Songs from the Year of Our Demise. I've been listeneing to this album nearly nonstop for about two weeks now.... I really, really love it. Its a bit like Elliott Smith's more electric-guitar oriented stuff.
Mojave 3 ~ Puzzles Like You. By far the most rocking Mojave 3 album!!!!!
Guster ~ Ganging Up on the Sun. My girlfriend has an older album of their's, which I didn't really dig, but the few songs I've heard from this one are some really well-constructed guitar pop songs.
Vetiver ~ To Find Me Gone. I've only heard a few songs from this album too, but I don't think they need any explanation. Vetiver is one of the best-sounding bands around.
