Funny how it shows that it is truly simplified Dutch.
"Werklik" we pronounce about the same but write "werkelijk".

 

Ja a lotta stuff got simplified, I did read this whole thing but forgot most of it...

But I do remember that Zuid was changed to Suid and that Ik is Ek....

 

Some of the Dutch dialects also pronounce those words the way you described. So basically Afrikaans is a simplified version of some of the Dutch dialects combined.
