I know this came out a while ago, but wanted to make a thread about it anyway.

I absolutely loved this movie! I watched it in the theatre, and there it scared me, but I've watched it a dozen times on dvd (I of course bought it, *drool* Cillian Murphy) and it's still pretty good.

Rumor has it there's gonna be a sequel called 28 Weeks Later... although Cillian likely won't be in it.... :( so sad...

    Love that movie.

Hardly an original storyline..... but despite that i think it really avoided become cliched and droll (quite the opposite really, had me on the edge of my seat several times).

Great cinematography and the acting was "believable".... a quality sadly lacking in a lot of horror movies.

Good story, that was well told :)

This is one of the best zombie movies ever done. The zombies had superfast speed, instead of plodding along dragging one foot.

I havent seen 28 days later, but I have seen night of the living dead and dawn of the dead (original 78 version)..... when I saw the remake of dawn of the dead, I couldnt get why in that movie the zombies moved at a furious pace, well my brother said to watch 28 days later which will show you the answer to why they started to move faster. I think zombies have more of a charm when they are slow moving. when they are faster, its quite a bit more creepy.....

I really liked 28 Days Later and would like to see what they'd follow it up with. Even if it's a new group of people, i'd still be interested. Only this time it won't be as fresh a style as 28DL.

Awesome film. If you've ever read Day of The Triffids (I think there might have been a movie of that too), you'll see that the story is pretty heavily based on that, mixed in with a bit of traditional zombie stuff.

The major reason that I really liked the movie was it's pretty brutal and honest examination of human nature, in how people react and act in extreme situations, how they start to behave like barbarians (the soldiers who want to rape the girls and keep them as sex slaves) as soon as the structure of society collapses. Very cool, the second half of the movie almost has a Lord of The Flies type feel.

This movie was ok but I would not call it a horror classic.

One of my favorites, but it's not really a zombie movie though...

Really disliked it at the cinema, for some reason. But i really like it now, even though it does outrageously steal from Day of the Triffids. There's some lovely little touches there. As for zombies running fast, well.. it was a pretty original thing to do with zombies, and i'm game for a laugh, why not?

Oh yes, the film is terrible..!! Although it's quite funny. :D There was a series on the BBC in the early eighties that was fantastic though, mostly based on the book, it was very adult and pretty scary..! Book's the best though, obviously.
