Normally prescribed for bipolar disorder. Average person would not likely notice anything unless plama levels get toxic, then there are some nasty possibilities.

Its just a salt thats already in your body. Used as a mood stabiliser for bi-polar, and random other shit. Has no receration purpose at all. And yes unless you need it you wont notice any effects, until you reach toxicity levels and then you will be really fucked up. I havent been turned into stone yet, so dont worry about that.........

    lithium carbonate.
I had some prescribed to me once upon a time, little white capsules.

don't bother messing with the Ca+ ion channel regulator; it only makes you feel dull, and there is no recreational utility whatsoever.

It increases norepinephrine and dopamine uptake, and lowers turnover of the second messanger IP3. It lowers the activity of NMDA receptors via GSK-3 and some how this all relates to the Ca ion channel regulation.

it would make more sense that Ca+ ion channel regulation is the primary initial function, hence causing its regulatory action on the excitatory neurotransmitters. the former actions in your post are the resulting effect. lithium is excellent for mania for this reason (thus good for Bipolar I), yet ineffective for depression, the predominant side of Bipolar II.

Thanks for pointing that out. I realize I didn't construct properly a causal structure nor do I know it. However if the lithium ion alters phopholipase-beta activity then the resultant change in IP3 concentration would modulate Ca++ flux through the ER.
