There's probably already a thread about Soulfly floating around here somewhere but I'm so lazy and can't be bothered to find it.

    Who else loves them?

I'm seeing them in concert for the second time next month, pretty exciting. The first Soulfly concert I went to, was my first ever experience in a mosh pit :) Good stuff.

The thing I love about Soulfly is all the different elements to it. It's still hard, rock--- but it's also got a mix of all these almost, ethnic elements to it. The Brasilian sound, of course, and sometimes a hint of reggae...etc. I just love it.

I think Max Cavalera is a f'in BRILLIANT.

Anyway, before I ramble all day.... anyone else have thoughts on Soulfly?

I love the tribal kind of sound they integrate into their music.

    Thanks for replying ;)

For sure, the tribal thing is what I was talking about. I love that. I love the little instrumental tracks they have on each album. I love just mellowing out to that shit.

I've loved Sepultura for years, and when I discovered Soulfly, I got hooked on them also.

I didnt think Soulfly were all that, not a bad band with some good songs but in my opinion if I was to listen to Max, I'd listen to Sepultura or Nailbomb before Soulfly anyday. However Soulfly are still a decent band in my opinion, enjoy the gig.

    Yeah isn't it great????

The newest album is probably close to my favorite... Although, I'm pretty obsessed with Primitive. Primitive just fuckin' rocked my world.

I'm not a fan of Sepultura/Soulfly's sound, just not my type of thing, but Max Cavalera is awesome.

The only SOulfly album I've heard is Prophet. the music is really phat, but I don't reALLY LIKE OR UNDERSTAND THE LYRICS. tHEY SEEM sorta angry and ultra-violent. Mabye that's just my take. Is Calveria the same dude that was in Speultura?
