hi everybody! guess what- tomorrow i am going to be getting my first vehicle- a vw bus!

do any of you know of any cool ways to decorate one?

so far i plan to: get tie dyed seat covers, tie dyed curtains, paint the outside all crazy, but that's about it.

are there any cool craft or decoration ideas i could consider?

    thanks

there used to be peal and stick flowers and mushrooms, like contact paper. i don't know if they still exist or not. you could also i suppose attatch a small woven basket of some kind to the dash for gas donations from hitch hikers who felt like chipping in. or if they were really broke could borrow out of. i mean it's all about PERSONAL taste. what YOU want it to look like, not about imitating some immaginary ideal. the 'vibe' is important though. be guided by what feels mellow to you. dazzle camo is not de rigor, but immagination and whimsy are a plus.

I vote for lining the floor of the bus with shag carpet.... it's become easier to find now that it's back in style.

I don't have a VW but I have a test tube glued to the dash of my old van with a bright yellow sunflower in it. I also have some of those flowers that were mentioned. Their not peel and stick any more. They are like static cling. I bought them on ebay.

in mine we knocked out all the seats in the back and made a huge bed(under the bed was a huge amount of storage space...you can stick bins under there with ur craft supplies, clothing ect.), sitting area, put a dresser in and carpeting...
you could paint a mural on the ceiling or put glow in the drk stars
under the bus attach a little jar for ur stash and bowl, lol
maybe right behind the front seats stick a big curtain u can pull shut for privacy when ur hanging out in the back.
in the middle perm. stick some kind of basket as a console box so u can keep all ur stuff from rolling around while ur driving.
maybe see if someone can blow a glass gear stick ball for u...

We have action figures and toys glued all over the dash and roof of our van. We also did the bed and storage idea like mentioned above by EarthyMama. We also painted the outside of the van with our business name and did it with left over house paint we picked up at garage sales (the original paint was faded and oxidized). We had a local elementary school art class help paint it too. It was a fun experience for us and the kids.

look under scrambled media and Bubble bus:
that's my friend Keith redecorating his bus.
I need to call and ask what the life span is... I know he redoes his bus a lot.
