Hello, doubt any of you remember who i am. Infact i think everyone i knew here has all but vanished! Fleassy doesn't seem to post her much any more. Well.. i've come to show off my locks (fleassy originals) hehehe they're just over a year old and well, they're different to most peoples. I get a lot of stick from other dreadie people, saying they don't look like proper dreads and arent neat and tidy enough, but hey ho i love them they're wax/rubber band free and always have been its taken up till now for them to really start to develop but i love them i truely do. They've managed to stay really silky too which i happen to love i don't know how i have managed it. Recently i got rid of one of my front dreads so i could pass it on to Fleassy to dread into her hair so she can had a dandy dread with her always I have lots of loose ends which are kind of knoting into tiny babie dreads amongst the phatties. I love them, they're a mess and they make me smile everytime day! Excuse me i could write essays i really could!
so were those backcombed?? they look huge(thats a good thing) and messy(also a good thing). and i looked at your gallery, and i remember you posting those a few months back. They got alot bigger and tighter looking.
fleassy backcombed them on the very first day not massively altho it did take forever.. i'll post a picture of how they looked on the very first day so you can see.. i litrally left my hair to it!
they're looking great the best kind of dreads are the ones that are left to do their own thing. much more personality, I think
awww dndy moo they look beaurtifull!! they change so much everytime i see them its great!! wow you cut a dready out for me!! *gasp* i feel so honoured!! i can wait to get it haha am in canada at the moment, sorry i didnt get ovr to see you before i left but i was moving house and things got so hectic. much love to you lady, and your beautiful dreadies
what kind of washing and maintedo u do?...how often do u wash and what with?...do u do anything else to them?..much love Bree ps...i remember you too
Maintaining.... uhm, nothing really.. i had them in wraps for a while over the summer but only for about 2 weeks last year. I sleep on a wollen pillow, i tend to tye bits of wool roound big loops in my dreads for periods of time to help them dread back in. I wash it with a natural soup, which is good for the scalp and keeps the skin on my head healthy and less likely to flake or peel... altho i burnted my head pretty bad the other day so i don't think anything will save that from peeling.. i wash it every so often i wouldn't say there was a pattern i used to wash it a lot more earlyer on in the year .. but now it might be once a month or longer than that. It generally depends if i've been somewhere really smokey and they stink of cigaret smoke! My dreadies just kinda do as they please mostly, i get some funny looks for other dread heads and i get some respect too.. they are neat enough for some people.. but hey! They're mine and i love em.
You sound just like me! I just pretty much left mine to do their thang, and in the back I have 3 HUGE ass congo dreads, and I loooove em... they are a little short, but I figure they'll all even out in the end. I'm lovin' those locks!
I didn't know you could dread someone other's dread into yours, thats really nice to share a dreadie How do you do it?
i remember you dandy!! they look beautiful!! i remember you fretting about them falling out and such and now look at them!!! YAY!!
you use a tiny tiny crochet hook and just lock the root of the cut dread onto the end of the host dread. i have my soul sisters first ever dread (she has mine) and my step mum grew me a dread too.
That's a cool idea about sharing dreads! Never heard of it before. And Dandy, your dreads are fucking rockin. I can't wait til my dreads are more formed, but they won't be as thick as yours. Did you have thick hair to begin with?
